I'm not sure who here has used that one, I previously had an S2000 antenna on my B5 and I definitely lost reception over the stock Fuba. While there was loss, it was acceptable. I would expect a similar loss with the Sharan.

So basically if you are satisfied with the current stock reception, you will probably be okay with the smaller antenna, but there will be some loss.

If you haven't already, look at the Honda S2000 antenna, it is similar and is only about $15 from a Honda dealer.

I have that Sharan antenna. The only radio I listen to is NPR and it works fine for that.

If you're around downtown Denver or one of the GTGs sometime, you're welcome to swap it out to try it, but that probably won't be conclusive especially driving in the mountains.

The Sebring mast is similar, under $4.  I'd like to try a Fuba setup in my Saab, it has a power antenna and I do not care for those.

I had one and lived in Evergreen for part of the time I had one.  I didn't listen to the radio all that often, but I never noticed anything to complain about.

With the sharan you will loose signal easier than a long one, but if the radio signal is good strength I doubt you would notice a difference.

I like the JOM style one a little better.

I did lose reception, but that was because I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer.  I think I just need to get the Schoshe (sp?) antenna wiring to help that, but to be honest with you, I hate radio, which is why I put MP3 head units in all of my cars.
