Hi Craig, welcome to the club.

Hmmm, for the 2.8, I think exhaust would help.  Don't chip it up front since that is not as big a bank for the buck as it is for the turbo cars.  Another option is to put better suspension on, add wheels, tires and a rear swaybar.  That won't make the car accelerate that much faster, but you can take corners with more speed, and that will increase the grin factor.

Ah, the 12v 2.8. I had a 30v 2.8 (1998) for 7 years, and loved it.  You may want to look into things like the throttle body adjustment, which is inexpensive.  Not much you can do mod-wise. Audiworld actually is a good resource for that.

thanks for the advice guys! Im going to put a new exhaust on it this summer through my work (mike shaw) they have a deal with house of mufflers and brakes so im going to go through them already got it picked out and everything! Im also going to mod the air intake with some help from a tech at my work. I will look into the throttle body and rear sway bar! Im getting some wheels from one of my dads friends pretty soon that should make the car a looker!! lol thanks again guys

Glad to have you here, Craig.  You may also want to search for Mance on AudiWorld.  His screen name is VAP.  He lives in Denver and has engineered some things you may find interesting.  Super talented guy (former pro racer).

depending on the coin you have to throw around....

PES G2 Supercharger kit with GIAC software (they write it for PES).  that will yield you just about as much as that engine is capable of on stock internals!

GIAC FX K04 w/ Injectors, K04-15

The PES supercharger only works with the '98+ 30v's, but there is at least one guy that has had some success with a homebrew supercharger on a 12v.  I think he has a thread on scaudi.com.
