Considering the offset and width of your wheels, I doubt what you read is true. Trying to fit wheels with an ET 13 (8.5" width) and ET 20 (10" width) on a car designed for offsets between 35 and 40 won't work, without pulling the fenders. I am curious where you read this. :?

I know that if you go wider than 8.5 the offsets will be different than the 35 that is normally recommended, but I am not enough of a wheel guru to know exactly what the specs are for it...

wider wheel with same offset will push the width out, as well as in...if you then move the center of the rim...in this case another 15 mm to the outside of a car, you are really pushing it.  That means you are running a 3" wider rim, meaning 1.5" wider on each side, plus 15mm further to the outside on the et20 10" rims.  That means you are approximately 2.2" that the rim would stick out even further.  So, in my humble opinion, that would not work.  Especially since the stock B5 is an et45 and the stock b5.5 is et35.  If for a stock b5, you are 1.5" plus 25mm...meaning over 2.5" wider on the outside for the rim alone.  Yikes.

Sorry Mike, I ended up having to fix a wiring problem in my bathroom that took all damn day.  I hate wiring issues.  They look so simple, but 500 trips to the fuse box later, and I was almost insane...and crazy.

ok i got the tool
pulled the head here is the damage report
exhaust valves (8total) 8 bent
intake valves (12 tota)l 7 bent

from P.Long AUDI I picked up an..
99 AEB head with 2 bent exhaust valves, (37,000miles on it fucking belt tensioner broke too)
brand new set of valve seals (20@6.5=$130),
2 new exchaust valves(2 @80=160),
exhaust manifold and a ko3-005 (<-ripe for my mk1 i want)
all for 600

took both heads to a machine shop and am canabalizing both to make 1 good head (<-150 labor +5 inspect and flowed) should be back by friday
waiting on that work, and i still need a h2o pump (autozones did'n't fit) and a head gasket set

my total costs for rebuilding head

320 timing belt
75 all other belts
400 used head
(200 exhaust mani and ko3) <-excluded
42.00   10mm tripplestar socket 140mm long
--------
837 (1037 w/ ko3&exh mani)

ive went thru audi for most of my parts so my cost is higher than it could have been
but it looks like i will vbe back in a NORMAL (cursed) car by next week

 including new/used parts tools

hopefully i will get her back on the road (brocks and all) by sat night!

Doh!  Mike, this is sure going to teach you about your engine, isn't it?  I was hanging out with my buddy Darrell recently and he is rebuilding the head on his 87 4Runner.  Similar stuff.

Best of luck and we hope to see that bad boy in action soon.
