BTW, is this going to be a hard core 4wheeling trip or medium?

I live close to Morrison.  I have an apartment, but I'm more than willing to open up my place as a meeting joint.  Hang out on the deck, etc before we go.

it is a family four wheeling day which means I'll have my little ones with me, and the trail is rated a 4/10 in difficulty:

This should be pretty mild. I need to get my door situation resolved by then or I am at the very best coming solo.

I don't have a 4x4, but anyone willing to take a ride along?
Would love to get some pictures of 4-wheeling!

it will be a tight fit between the car seats in the back of mine.  if for some reason my family decides to bail on this, then I'll have 3 open spots in the beater rover.

If I can't get the door thing resolved, which for sure means Renee wont go I will have an open seat, but it will be cold as ice. And the dog will be hitching a ride too.

I'll at least get the soft top on by then, I'll just be short a passenger door. :)

I've got a spare seat in the FJ, as well as some spare jump seat room in the back.

I would like to join in on this as well.  I have a Jeep Liberty, All Stock, but is the Renagade addition with Steal underbars and plates underneath, Made for Rock hopping.  It has seen some pretty good off roading in the past, and came out with a shinning performance  ;D

It would be My wife and I.

That's great Wayne! Yeah it should be just fine for this trail. We'll have to watch the weather as I believe we'd be up around timberline so there could very well be snow.

cool, I guess I'll just show up and see who's got an empty seat at that time. Do we have an official meet place?

Okay,

Let's get this figured out!!

-Meet at I-70 and Morrison Road at 0800 (That is 8 in the morning for you night crawlers). At the Skier commuter parking on the North East corner.

Things to bring:

-WATER
-FOOD for lunch and snacks. We will stop for lunch and sight seeing.
-Dress for ALL weather. (at least bring WINTER coat just in case)
-Camera
-Gloves(leather/work just in case)

I will have MOST of the serious off road gear in case we need it. If you have it you should still bring tools, tow straps, jacks etc.

This is NOT a hard trail, but could have snow on the top. We should have everything we might need. We probably won't need any of it.

I will see if I can find current trail conditions and if there is significant snow on the top I will plan a back up trail at a lower elevation.  (Bill Moore lake maybe).

Bring CB radios if you have them. Mine has an short somewhere in it but I can usually hear people from a short distance. (You just can't hear me which is probaly good).

Found this picture on Colorado4x4.org. This is from 9-15-07 on Red Cone pass. Elevation 12,801'. Same basic elevation and area where we will be Sunday so we should be good. Looks like it may be nice for us.

Hmmm......maybe?  It is certainly possible. Most of the time we tend to get back a touch later than that. But that is usually because we go eat in Breck afterward.

I need to fix my door to be in, I have x number of rivets to drill out to get to the missing hardware. Once I can get the door hinge bolted back into place I will need to re-rivet the inserts. If you want to come help or have other ideas that would be great!

So it's not looking good, I had hoped to work on it each night this week, but work has been keeping me working late each night this week. I am going to work tonight after I eat, but we'll see where I get.

Jay, if you werent clear on the other side of town I'd come help tonight.  If it gets to be saturday and you still dont have it done, let me know and I'll try to get free to come by.

I also have to be back fairly early.  I have a hockey game at 7:30 so will have to drop the family off at home and pick up my gear by 6:30 to make it.

Trail starts in Montazuma(7 miles south of Keystone Ski area). Goes up over the mountain and drops out just north of Breckenridge.
