had an epiphany tonight about a good web based business
« on: August 03, 2007, 03:01:26 AM »
I have been spending tonight planning and researching after having the idea.

only one small competitor is apparent.  Looking at existing open source software, I should be able to get a site up and running in the next 2 weeks or so, and will be able to run the business in my spare time.

If I can find the right URL, I may have to give this a go.

more details once I am up and running.

Right that's were you re-market what already exists or find a way to use it differently. Example, Facebook. Essentially the same as MySpace but...better.

My sideline stuff is finally taking off...a little bit. In Montana no less ;D

alright, here is the update.

I am building a new social networking site.  but an automotive one.  rather than posting a profile of yourself, I you will post a profile of your car.  you'll be able to link to friends cars, share information, photos, and blog about the car.

I have acquired a url for this project:

http://www.sucksquishbangblow.com

it sounds titillating enough to drive traffic to the site, but as we all know the title is just the 4 cycles in a 4 stroke engine.

I think I have settled on some software to run on the site.  I hope to have a beta up in a couple weeks.  When I do, if any of you want to try it out and be beta users, I'd be happy to have you.

I recall the guys in Utah that run germanvermin.com were trying something similar, but I don't know whatever happened to it.

I like the idea and hope it works out. I'll gladly beta test it. :)

I'd be more than happy to try it out, but with that title, it'll probably be banned on half the public's computers  ;D

yeah, that is a concern, but it might just draw more eyes to the site.  I am torn about that.
