Yes, the Super 8. Now I don't know if they only had a limited number of rooms for that rate, but as I posted in an earlier response we were told to mention we are with Colorado Treffen and it should be good for a discount.

It might be worth calling back today and asking again.

hhhmmm... Well I called again, and they still don't know what I am talking about, but they gave me the triple A discount and it's only a few bucks difference.

Well that sounds good, it's not like the discount was huge in the first place and I know AAA discounts are usually like 5 - 10% which is pretty much what I got (10%).

Glad you got a room reserved, I'm looking forward to this weekend.

A little update on the discount, if you are having trouble getting it here is what Scoty says:

He needs to call back and talk to either Don or Britt.

Hope that helps.

What a great time! Uploading pictures right now. Nice to finally meet Aaron and we also got a surprise visit from Wayne and his wife Debbie, great to meet the both of you.

For those that couldn't make it, well you missed out. Oh and Winston, I had so many people asking about where you were, I told them you were in Uruguay rescuing orphaned pygmy gorillas. For some reason no one bought it. Scoty says you are a wuss for not showing. :p

Here is my post from the tex:

Here are links to my two ultra lame videos from my little tiny digi cam. I think listening to my exhaust is better than the actual videos.

19 seconds

34 seconds and jittery, road was rough and I tried using my steering wheel to stabilize

I have like 50 pictures, I will post some in here, otherwise the link to see them all is as follows:

Ah, what could have been if I could take a good picture

I don't care how many "men" short you guys were.

View from the Poncha Springs visitor center...what a great day

Renee and I were the first one's there. :D

Scoty and Mike's rides waiting to get going

Alex's GLI I've decided he needs to give me.

The only picture I am posting at the top of Monarch pass, a few guys toughed it out (Mike aka redline from RMCB5 and a name that slips my mind...sorry :() and crossed the highway and climbed a mountain to get what I expect is an incredible shot, so for the time being here is my crappy one.

I spy a Subaru about to destroy me

After a little rest on 114...note the yellow warning sign!

Wayne in front of us after we got separated from the group.

Finally we caught up to everyone in Sagauche and got something to eat. Most folks had already split (as they should have, thank you for waiting as long as you did) so there were just a few of us left for the drive back to Salida.

Check out my sweet camera...oh and Mike (redline)

It was tons of fun this year! It was good to meet averyone and I can't wait till next year.

Here are some of my photos. they are a little compressed as I am using Photobucket this time...

Jay's urs4

A4. this thing was swarmed as soon as it drove up. Probably my favorite car from the whole show.

On the drive up...

These are the really cool shots of the weekend. It's a technique called HDR. A program called Photomatix takes 5 seperately exposed images and combines them into one. Unfortunately it leaves it's watermarks on each image until you buy the full version for $100.
Good news is that the "Buy Mike the Cool Software" Charity is now accepting donations ;) When I buy the program I will probably go back and redo all of these w/out the watermarks.

Great pics! I'm a big lame-arse for saying I'd make it out then failing to do so. Looks like a great time, maybe I'll get out to it next year if they do it again.

Quick! Everyone out of the universe!

Here's the second set of pics.
One thing I have learned is that it is freakin hard to hold a 5 lb camera taking pics and drive. Sometimes I wish I was the passenger. and then I fly past a Ford at 100 and remember why I drive an Audi :)

Jay and Matt driving on the way up

The Contiental Divide - I tried to stitch these two pics together but when i took the pics, like an idiot, I set my camera to bracket, and the exposures were totally different. this is the best I could do...
Hopefully James, the guy who went up the mountain with me will have a good one from up there...

And the drive home from Saguache with Scoty, Aaron, and the orange GLI

great pics Mike....you have a real skill.  I shared a bunch of your pics from the Mt. Evans drive with the MINI club...and they are all impressed with your work!!!  You can teach me a thing or 2, that is for sure.

Nice shots guys!

Here's a motley crew:

Alex, Kenny, and Scot make for a crazy time.  I don't care who you are.

+25 if Scot wore his kilt at any point during the weekend.
