Good DV for 1.8t Audi TT
« on: October 29, 2007, 08:11:38 PM »
I have a buddy that has a 225hp Audi TT and has chipped it and replaced the air filter with a K&N.  He has had some issues with it, and I think one of the first things he should do it replace the stock DV with a stronger one.

It's been a while since I got one and the best of breed has changed from what I have seen.  Can you guys make some recommendations?  Anything else you could recommend?

He doesn't know exactly what had problems.  From his conversation with the repair shop: "they said some pump, and some temp senser, and some air flow stuff"

Thanks guys.

You'll get a million different answers from a million different people.  I've used a couple Bosch valves and have never had good luck with them.  I've had the same Forge 007 valve for years and have no complaints.  Forge gets my vote.
The new APR valve might be a contender, but I cannot recommend it based on the lack of service APR regularly exhibits.

I've had good luck with the APR valve.  I was blowing through diaphragms regularly with the Forge race.  The Forge piston (007?  006?) may be a good choice for him.  Comes with a choice of springs so he can tune to his liking, and won't break diaphragms, as there are none.

I use a Forge. I'm happy with it.
