Adding some more utility to the Avant...
« on: December 17, 2007, 03:46:45 AM »
Picked up a tire trailer from a fellow NASA racer last week.  Dropped it off at Built by Bones today for some work.  Going to have a different wheel/tire rack made, mount up a spare tire holder and mount some bars so I can run two Thule bike trays on it too.  Thing should be pretty sweet!  Going to probably pick it up the Friday after Xmas.

Also scored a Da Lan hitch for the S4 off AudiWorld, so I'm all set there.

May have scored the holy grail for my car as well, a black leather/grey alcantara sport interior.  Needs a little work, but between what I'd be getting and what I have, I should be able to make a nice, complete interior and still have some parts leftover to sell...

Very nice, you've been busy! On an unrelated note, I was at tire source on Saturday and someone came in and dropped your name.

Is that Grant Barclay at Built by Bones doing the work?  He used to own a MINI....one heck of a driver.

I think wagons with trailers are cool!!!

Still owns...he's been trying to sell it for awhile now.  And yes, he's one heck of a driver, and cage builder - he built mine.

Yep, Grant Barclay = Built by Bones.  He sold his auto-x Mini and still has his road course one.

He helped me with my old tire trailer that I stupidly sold.  (that seems to be a theme with me, build something cool, then sell it and regret it)

Who dropped my name at Tire Source?

I'm not sure, I was trying to catch the guy's attention, but I kind of looked like a bum sitting there on a Saturday morning. He was picking up a Nord Frost and asking about RS4 reps. I overheard him talking to Pete and he mentioned your name.
