Operation add sliders to the rover is complete
« on: February 03, 2008, 07:56:40 PM »
got them finished up this morning.

The sliders I got are boxed steel rails that mount to the door sills.  they replace the plastic sill caps that were there before.

the sliders I picked up used.  took some time to knock off the surface rust and to re-spray them before putting them on.

here they are on the truck:

and

they should provide a little more protection on the trails.  not as much as frame mounted sliders, but still not bad.

dang Andrew...that looks great.  By the time you are done, you might have a pristine, fully restored, Rover!!!

maybe, if I keep it long enough.  but I found some more problem areas (rust) to take care of while crawling under the car.  this thing has definitely had a tough life.
