I wont be there, car can't go and is not ready to be shown. I had to leave town unexpectedly this week so it's not ready in any way shape or form.

I will try to come by, anyone want to pick up my entry for me? I got a shirt and all that.

So, for those that went, how was it?  Did anyone post pics of it?

It was good. I scooted right after the awards since the rain was looming.

Randy: thhhppbbttt! All i got hit with was a dozen or so teeenie-tiny drops on the north side of the Springs. =p
He was making fun of me that the car was going to get rained on.

Seemed like a lot of good sponsors, some really, really nice cars and the usual good people. There was none of the past years shenanigans of drunk/drinking people -it was still there, but kept very down-low which is how it should be anyway for family friendly events.

There really were some great looking cars in the pics.  I am always amazed at how far the VAG scene has some here in the Rocky Mountains.  Some world class cars were among the lineup there from the looks of it.

And Andy, your car was looking great.  It's too subtle to be truly appreciated at a show like that with a lot of cars that weren't going for the subtle look.

Your car is a good judge of the judges...

Did you win anything?

I stopped by the show for a while, but didnt show the car this year.  I just didnt have a chance to get the allroad ready this year.  seemed like a pretty good show, it was great to see all the familiar faces and to check out the cool cars.

I am glad that it all worked out for you.  I just know what a PITA it would be for you to actually have to wash your car ;D

Then I would say those judges are good enough to know a great car when they see one.

Congratulations!

Sometimes it isn't the judges... but the system set up to value the judging.  I don't know how DATR is set up, but I know with a lot of other shows there is a lot of emphasis put onto cleaniness.  Also if you do a mod that is subtle, and maybe very rare, etc, but the points system can't make up for other aspects missing.

A lot of the show winners are ugly or fast and furious (with other shows), but those cars are usually clean, have a lot of work and custom stuff (that is obvious too).  I hate seeing ugly cars win.

I like how DATR is set up for the people who are active in the scene to win, not someone that put $100,000 into a mk2.

Granted, Andy's car is amazing and would probably place or win at most of the VW shows.

first time I've missed it in years, though I'm sans Passat now.
How did the Passats show?

Too bad there's no big MB following here.
Looks like a great event.

reviewing the pano, the only Passats I see are booth cars...

The show was a ton of fun and good to see members that I haven't seen in months. Unfortunately, the dyno was kind of a bust, but slow drags was a ton of fun! I had 5 people piled in my car, doors open, and of course the the umbrella out the roof.
