I hope it is a hoax, please, let it be a hoax.  If they come out with that, I will never buy a VW again out of principle....VW should have nothing to do with Dodge, etc.  EVER.

No it's real, I think we might have already had a thread on this? Maybe i am thinking of another forum. I have tried ignoring it for as long as I can. It will be a flop most likely for VW.

I believe VW is killing themselves trying to expand their line too much. Plus, if I wanted one of those, I would go pay less for the chrysler/dodge.

well, that settles it, a 4 door GTi is now out of the running for my next daily driver.  I will have nothing to do with a company that has any affiliation with Chrysler, etc.  The concept disgusts me.

Probably, they do that lifetime powertrain warranty now.

they have that on chrylser, dodge and jeep.  Pretty good deal if you keep the car, but once it is sold or the title is transfered, it is void.  Has to be the original owner, and since 99% of people rarely keep their cars longer than 5 years these days, they have very little to lose by such coverage.

Only reason I considered a Jeep was the warranty, but that phase went away once I drove the new unlimited Jeep Wangler, blah.

Blah indeed, The new Wranglers have a very minivan-ish V6 in them. Not nearly enough torque for its intended purpose.. They should have never gotten rid of the 4.0 in my opinion. ???

I might drive one of those vans.. If I had 6 kids.. and it was 2.7T.. J/K

It's sad that VW is dealing with a recent Mercedes/Daimler reject.

Badge engineering has always been a failure.
Some good examples: Saab 9-2, Saab 9-7X, Chrysler TC, and anything from GM.

But I've heard that this is a launching point to a new ground-up minivan design jointly between VW and Chrysler.  I'm hoping the VW version will have some Microbus Concept cues, which after all these years still look cool, modern and appeals to non-minivan buyers.
