Audi-holic on Board...
« on: July 09, 2008, 07:21:56 PM »
I just joined Union1609 & was also referred over here. I am a Audi-holic, but would cheat on Audi any day of the week with an M3 (modded E36 is my preferred flavor). I lost my job a few months back & thus my ride (had a TT and an '00 S4, both stock). I felt completely betrayed by the IT community (I am an ex-techie), and decided I don't want to be a grown-up anymore, I just want to play with cars...

So, now I work for a newly opened Euro-type repair/performance/and more shop. I do all the detailing, for those that might be interested... (I will hold off on mentioning more until we purchase some advert rights on the board)...

At the moment, I don't have a ride of my own, but here are some pics of ones owned by the shop I work for (I am saving my pennies for a badass M3....)

** OK - I will have to post the photos shortly, since our Internet connection just slowed to a death crawl...

Well, the computer-gods are against me today, so if you want pics, here are links to my picasa albums:

Examples of my detailing:

(The silver and blue S4 are ours, the rest are customer ones)

The yellow 944 in this album is ours, the other cars are just pics I have taken at shows:

@redline - thanks! I had a lot of fun detailing that car, she was gorgeous to start out with & the non-metallic colors show a wax so very much better! Plus, she was the first car that I did with Prima waxes & I was incredibly impressed. Up until a few weeks ago, I was a Zaino-evangalist. However, I decided to see how the other waxes stacked up. I was way more impressed than I thought I was going to be.

Tho thumbs way up to Nick and Heather at Detailer's Paradise!

Two thumbs way up to Nick and Heather at Detailer's Paradise!

You can say that again.  I just dropped nearly $200 restocking my supplies.  I still have yet to detail my cars for the summer, need to get the MINI in shape for the national gathering in August up at Copper.

and yes, Mike, redline, and fotograf are all in the same :)

03Indigo - If you are just too busy to detail the cars, allow me to offer my services...  I detail for a living & love it... To me, making a car glow = zen ;)

Of course, if you are a DIY'er, I can't blame you. Putting a good wax job on a beautiful car is, well, fun =)

I can vouch for Kim's work.  She worked on that yellow B5 S4 for so long on Friday and was so meticulous about it that I actually asked her if it was her car!  :o  It looked damn good when it was done.

We have some damn good detailers on this site. The more the merrier. 03Indigo does a tremendous job. His mini is "dirty" and it is cleaner than my clean and detailed cars. :D

Oh, and since I haven't posted in here yet but talked to you offline, welcome Kim!

Thanks for all the welcomes - and thanks for the props, Rick :)

Beautiful cars deserve to shine! I know my old TT was so much happier when she was clean, she treated me so much better then too!

yeah, you don't know me, but I am a total DIY type of person, mechanical, interior, leather work, etc.  and detailing I like to do myself, therapy for me, and the MINI is show car condition :)

I just have not had the time due to helping out other folks, work, and a new puppy that has been pretty sick, and keeping us busy with adjusting to home life for the past 2 weeks.

Where are you all located?  Might have to swing by to see the shop and see your detailing process.

03Indigo - Therapy.... perfect word for it..... Meditiation. Exactly.

We are right across the road from L&H autobody (btw Kipling and Wads on the frontage road). I am a little light on cars to detail at the moment, but you can stop by any time... Would love to see the MINI....

Hehe, that is the worst thing about detailing to pay the bills, it is either feast or famine.....

Still waiting on the feast part ;) Bring it on  :D

Those are my old stomping grounds.  I grew up in Arvada, 58th and Eldridge.

What is your exact address, not familiar with L&H, but I would love to swing by and show you the MINI, such a fun car, and I change a few things on it.

We are:

4745 Independence St. Suite C
Wheat Ridge, CO 80033

Phone is 303.421.0365

Easiest way to get here is Exit 70@ Kipling, then if coming from the E, go under 70 & turn L onto the Frontage rd; if coming from W, take immediate L onto frontage rd. Independence is first road that you come to, take R, then next R into our lot.

Looking forward to seeing the MINI - I have only driven a stock one & they seem like they would be so fun with a little more "oomph" behind them!

If you are coming this week, I would call first - we are having a big company party (three day event, hosted by one of our owner's other companies) plus we have three cars to ready for this weekend's race, so time is a little on the "iffy" side. However, next week - anytime is excellent.

We also don't have our signs up yet, but we are right across the road from L&H - we usually have a bunch of Audis in the lot...

yeah.  So, what cars do you all work on, just Audi/VW?

There is a complete lack of MINI support locally, and there is a bunch of folks looking for something outside of the dealer.  Not just for service, but performance upgrades with reliable work and great customer service.

Any interest on your part in possibly doing MINI tuning?

I can speak to that a little.  The shop services VW, Audi, BMW and some Porsche.  Since Mini is a divsion of BMW, it wouldn't be hard to make that jump, but I'll have to talk with Chris (owner) about that specifically.  As of this week, I will be working for Peak (announcement coming soon!) with the focus on driver and stree/race car development.  That means we can pretty much help you with anything you need for your cars from both a maintenance and performance perspective and help the nut behind the wheel as well.  ;)  So, if there is something you are looking for specifically, let me know (PM or start another thread so we don't hijack Kim's thread) and I'll see what we can do for you.

Hijack away =)

And, our tagline is - We specalize in Audi/VW/BMW but we service *all* makes and models.

Although, being mindful of the other shops represented in here, perhaps we should refrain from rep'ing our shop too much until we get advertiser's rights. I spoke with Jay earlier & forwarded the required info to Chris, so my guess is we will be all "official" on the forums next week sometime.

Oh, and publically - Rick, welcome aboard! =)

no worries, I totally respect that :)

Maybe I should come up in a couple of weeks and pimp out my MINI aftermarket talk to you and the owners, so we can have someone to help feed my need to buy stuff for my car, there is nothing locally, and I like to window shop, hehe.
