Love the SV's, Almost started out with one of those for my first bike, got a YZF 600R, then an R1.  Kinda wish I went with the SV650, love the open look of the bike.

I got to ride the SV650 home after we bought it. An absolute blast to ride and sounds soooo sexy with the pipe on it. Arguably more fun to just ride than my R1.

I rode an SV650, back in 2001 after I had my Yamahas, and I had the same impression you did...should have ridden that first, but live and learn.  Hopefully next summer I will have a bike again, so I can go and ride with everyone.

The Speedy project has been moving kinda slow.

It is over at TFOG Wheelsports having an electrical glitch debugged. :rolleyes:

Hoping to get it fired up and ridable soon!!!! Then I can work on all the real details of making this bike something cool.

I got the seats back from Luimoto today. I have been VERY excited about this.  Since the bike is not here I set them on the tail section to snap some quick pics to give everyone an update. (they will obviously fit better when actually locked onto the bike).

LOTS of work to still be done. I have to work on all the little details now that it is mostly complete and running. (so some of the stuff you see in the pictures will change)

Well, I dove into the Speedy again yesterday. Seems the Speedo has a broken clock spring. Which explains why my odometer works and the speedo did not.

Put some "Speedometer clock spring glue"  on it and will be headed out in a minute to see if it works.

While I was in there I decided to try something different with the Rizoma gauge cluster. The full bright polished unit just did not fit the bike very well. Not to mention it was kinda dinged up.

I went for a brushed machined look and painted a few of the parts black to tone down the bling.

Here is what it looks like now.





I still have lots of work to do to make it a finished product. But here is how it sits right now. Obviously there are things on it that need to change still (bars, levers, mirrors, etc)

I've ridden it quit a bit and really enjoyed it. Want to narrow down some projects to a managable state.

It is a tough call but I find myself riding the R1 more than the Triple.
