Lexus IS-F - Now with pictures
« on: August 21, 2008, 04:38:08 PM »
I just saw a Black IS-F... It is a hot car.  I've seen the new M3 and I'm not a fan of Lexus at all (even though they are good cars) and I have to say, I think I like the IS-F more.

I got some pictures, but I can't get them off my phone until I get home tonight... I will post them up later.

I love the previous generation M3.  What is your guys takes on the new M3 and IS-F.

I've seen one IS-F on the highway and it looks nice, but it's going to take more then a fancy V-10 to make it a great car.  Lexus has a history of building really nice vehicles, but it's something totally different to build a peformance car.

The M3 on the other hand has a history of being one of the best peformance cars on the planet from the beginning.  Sure, it looks a little goofy with the carbon roof and the bulge in the hood.  But, before you even drive one you know, just know, that it will do everything you want the car to do.

I know Lexus will be close, but I don't see it competing with the M3 where it really counts.  Oh, and I'd much rather have an RS4 anyway!  :D

I believe it is a V8 ;).

The performance and handling is there.  I have actually heard complaints that the suspension is too stiff for the likes of a Lexus owner, haha.

I would say Lexus has a better reputation for reliability than any german car does.

What I think looks goofy about the M3 is the roundness, it just looks too much like an egg or a late 90s taurus.  I LOVE the look of it from the rear.  The front looks good too, it is the side.  Something about the cabin that is too round and to me looks goofy.

Pictures in a few hours... I'm going to take the LONG way home.  Instead of going down 93 to lakewood, I'm going up Boulder Canyon and to Netherland and down Coal Creek Canyon back to 93.  Instead of 33miles, my commute home will be 66.... This might become my route "66".

IS-F photos... even one of the silly looking exhaust pipes.  Notice in the 3rd image the guy parked his bumper on the sidewalk.

I love the look of the new IS....the 250, 350 and the F.  I think it is one hell of a car.

If I had the cash, I seriously would consider the IS250awd for a daily driver.

Yep, you are right.  5.0L 32v V8 with 416HP/371 torque.  Not sure why I thought it was a V10.   ???

Meh.  A guy I work with has the 250.  I think it looks like a souped up Camry.

That guy definitely caught the failboat on how to park off the curb.

On the way home today (from shopping) is saw a new M3 on the road.  I take back what I said earlier... the M3 looks WAY better.  It also didn't look as bubbly as I remember.  I did look online and you can get 4-door M3s... I wonder if that is what I have seen previously.

2-door is HOT.
