I'm not sure what you mean...I know we will be parking together and that's appropriate, but what I don't want is us to have 2-feet in between me and the next guy...

there will be 12' square parking blocks for water cooled cars.. 2 back to back rows with one "alley" between.

Sweet! That will be very nice, no dings and plenty of space for anyone that has to bail.

Yeah, if my car was perfect like ya'lls, I'd be worried about that too. But as it stands, a few dings'd fit right in !!!HAHAHA

I'm thinking of taking my car out tomorrow to some dirt roads and get it as dirty as possible to hide my recent dings.  Do they have a prize for dirtiest car?  :-D

Oh, and I'll probably show up in the morning for a little while before I bail to go on a bike ride.

Alan, you'll be in good company with my car.  I had those on there for about 3 months...

After Alan and I put the new wheels on my car we compaired door dings. I have to say, I think he has me beat. They did look nasty, but fixable.

His car I mean.  :(

So 7:30 to 8am at the Lamars. I'll be there.  8)

How late are you all planning on staying? I think I'm going to come down, but I was thinking of being there at like noon? will you all be gone by then?

Of the nine Passats that were in attendance, the winner for the Passat category went to some kid with a white B5.5 which had a tricked out audio/video system (two video screens, an X-box, and subwoofers that took up most of the trunk).
I was hoping one of us would have picked up the prize -- there's always next year.

I had a great time -- there were lots of great (and bad) cars, vintage and new.
I'm ready to crash right now from getting up so early and spending all day drinking and being in the sun.
I'll post pics in the next day or two.

That's definately true.
Judging was left up to the participants. So there's no telling who knows what about cars except that 18" wheels and a trick AV systems are cooler than cars with trick performance mods.
It's the difference between a "show" car and a "tuned" car I guess.
Chris never did fire up the AV system...for all anybody knows it could have all been prop 8O
But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt :P

On a more personal note...I'm really sunburnt 8-)

Wow, it sounds like I made the right decision going to the track instead.  If this is the direction this scene is going, it's not for me.  I want to hang around cars that are made to be better cars, not a/v systems put in the worst listening/viewing environment one can think of.

Actually, it was a great day.  Chris's car probably got a lot of votes because it was the ICE that really stands out.  It's hard to tell if someone has an aftermarket DV or coilovers, but a trunk full of amps gets people's attention.  His ICE was pretty sick.

On another note, there were some AWESOME cars there.  The best I have ever seen.  It is unbelieveable the level of detail that some people put in their cars.  Robin and OT definitely put out some sweet GTIs.  I'll post my pics soon and you will see what I mean.  If this is any gauge, then DATR will rock my face off.

Here's Robin's car:

Yes this beast is supercharged and intercooled.  Have you ever seen a car with a sweeter ride height?  Notice the single rounds with HID lenses?

A Rally GTI setup.  These headlights are an OEM part that can only be obtained in Germany:

This car has the original paint, and it is in PERFECT condition.  Absolutely awesome to behold.

I forgot to add, that many thanks go to all those that put in effort to make the show happen, it was a great show, I had a good time and saw some of the most beautiful and highly modified VWs I've ever seen.

I only hope that in the coming years we can change who judges the Best of Show, maybe make it an elected or revolving position.

I really like all the Porsche's that were allowed to show while the Audi's were left in a far away lot that wasn't just Audis.
