Cool!  My friend Scott with Miller Motorsports has joined forces with Evil Genius, he is finishing two spare motors tonight.  Good luck to all of you, wish I could be there too.

I got relayed a few texts.  They went Green at 5am but went under yellow again due to fog for 10 minutes or so at 6:30am.  Back to Green again but still a bit foggy after that.

My friend's team lost the motor in the A car (changed it but is in 12th place in class.) The B car 'Scrappy' is 2nd in class.   Go Ian!  Go scrappy!

Hahaha, that's cool!  We are on our way back now, stopped at a Flying J for some early dinner and WiFi.  I think we did fantastic!!  8th in class (out of 18) and 18th overall (with 74 cars starting - 6 were there only for the 6-hour, so 68 is the total for the 25 hour).  Fantastic for our first effort!!  The hot shoes in the car turned some amazingly quick laps (02:01.423 posted by Patrick Barrett) and really turned it on in the end.

Joel, with Patrick Barrett driving, we took 18th overall from the Evil Genius Racing leading car in turn 12 on the final lap ;)  We spent a lot of time over in their compound, what a bunch of great guys.

This was such a blast.  I'm really hoping we get to do it again next year.

Fantastic work, it's hard to imagine even getting a car on the grid let alone battling it out and finishing well in a race that demanding.  I was wondering if your car would get around Scrappy before the checkered flag, that sounds like it was exciting.

EGR/Miller getting the win, and not even in the A car was fantastic for them.  I guess Scrappy oiled down the clutch a bit from a dripping rear main, but they cleaned it with brake cleaner and it held out.  I'm particularly glad they were on top, as the other top teams have trotted out the Drama Llama with some protests regarding air jacks, refueling, etc.  Nice to not be a part of that, I'm sure.

If anyone is interested in an inside look at some endurance racing experiences I suggest reading the hilarious articles about Army of Darkness motorcycle racing team.  Scroll down and start at the beginning, or fpr the serious Endurance stuff that starts in 1996 "Entropy bites back":

Very interesting and funny.

Congratulations Ian!
