Now i need a clutch. :(

Ok so i finnaly start dialing everything in. I rebuild my Hyperboost DV today, installed a ECS N75 race valve, reset the computer, realigned the throttle body, pset the software to 91 octane, and then went for a drive in this nice wet weather..

What do i find out?? my damn clutch is slipping like mad. The traction control isn't even coming on. The clutch is just slipping and slipping more. The RPMS rev right up nicely.  So i guess it is time for a new clutch. Who would you guys trust with a clutch install?

The car does feel faster though :) , and these Toyo T1-S's tires hook up in the downpours i drove in last night.. No hydroplaning at all.  Just apssing everyone in the left lane.. Big

Now if i could just find some good wipers.

Well that sucks!

I was just reading in EuroTuner about the SPEC stage 1 clutch.  It sounds like a good deal and they have stage 2, 3, 4, and 5 if needed.

Abd Racing is the source, so maybe look into that as a replacement.  Becasue you are pushing some good power through the engine and upgrade maybe be worth the $$.

i am thinking either the Autotech stage 2 w/ light flywhel or the ECS stage 1 kit.  The biggest thing is finding someone local to install it. I don;t really feel like doing this myself.

Can you e-mail me when you guys do your boost gauge. i need to install one soon, but i want to see how you guys install it before i attempt it.

Thanks.

Well Eric, I know you don't have a Passat, but you're right, you don't want any of that yourself. That's a nasty job that needs to be left to pros. I'm serious too. I did my own clutch on my '99 1.8T Passat and it took two days of swearing, fighting and finger cutting to get that bad boy back together. Yes, in the end I saved about $450 to $600 doing it myself, but I would never do it again! It's worth every penny you pay to have a shop do it.

There are a couple places in the front range area that can do it. Try Motorsport Werks in Broomfield. I think they had one of the better prices too and they know their way around German cars.

Good luck! :-D

Eric I use a place called German Car Specialists.  The guy is Russian and is very good and real cheap too as far as his labor rates go.

I will have to find the number tonight as he is not listed.
