New Passat Guy

Hi everyone!

My name is John. I'm new to this forum, but not new to VW/Audi  :)

I own a Passat 2003 GLS 1.8T. So far everything stock. But I'd like to get some 17" rims. Do you think I have to lower the car to make it look good?

I moved to CO from Germany two years ago. I  had to sell my Lupo GTI   :( (that's why I choose this user name) when moving to the USA. I"ll post some pics later on.

Hope to meet many VW fans!

John

You don't have to lower it per se, but most will say that to have the look you are trying to achieve that you will.

Regardless of the wheel size you will have the same wheel gap for the most part.

Welcome to the site and ask any questions you cna think of and we will do our best to answer them.

17" rims look great on the B5.5.  If you go wide enough (like 8.5" wide rim), you can shove a 235-45-17 in there, and that helps to fill up the wheel gab a bit.  I had 17" rims on my B5.5, loved them.
