That's right, Mike got a station wagon. My dad and I flew out to San Fransisco this last Saturday morning, bought the car, and drove it straight back to Elizabeth.

It's a pearl white '98 A4 Avant sport. Being a pre-facelift model it has the Euro hatch and stubby passenger mirror. I bought the car with H&R coilovers, A8L wheels and a Dieselgeek Panzer skidplate (it needs it). I'll probably add a future mod list and more photos later, but I thought I'd get this up for everyone to see now!

The basics:
- Quattro
- Manual
- Sport trim
- 2.8l V6 (that's where the slow part comes in)

Current mods:
- H&R coilovers
- A8L OEM wheels
- Dieselgeek Panzer skidplate

Nice car! I'm not a huge fan of the wheels, but the rest looks great. Is it a 30v? If so, it shouldn't be too slow. I bet you noticed a difference in performance driving it up here, tough.

It is a 30v and it pulled pretty well in San Fran... and then we got to the Sierras and it went downhill from there.

They need to be re-finished anyway and I can get them properly powder coated for a great price, any ideas?

Wow, it's slammed! PES kits seem to pop up used for a good price.

Not a huge fan of the wheels tho...

Only 65k

I do love the PES systems, got to test-drive one with it and those suckers are fast.

On a side-note, I got someone to quick chop white wheelswith black inserts on there and this is what it looks like: (it would be body color pearl to match)

Any thoughts?

wheels look much better that way. If it were me, I'd go the other way and make them really dark grey - almost black - to match the lowers on the car.

Mikey has made this decision based on his possible transfer to CSU in Fall....economically its the best thing for him (he thinks)

What Richard said is true, I'm going to cut back on the expenses during college, and then get back into the four rings afterward. I love the car, but feel that this is the best decision for now.

If you only knew how smart that is. I made the mistake of spending a lot during college, playing,etc... now I don't have the money I used to so I have to careful and right now don't have enough to get a house (which I would have if I didn't go nuts with my GTI).... granted it was pretty sweet.
