Interesting: Body shop guy called and...
« on: April 24, 2009, 01:50:48 PM »
...said he couldn't find the paint chips for my car in any of his Audi books. He had to have a guy come out and shoot it. Came up as a VW color (probably the R32 blue). The car IS Nogaro from the factory (I have the paperwork) but he said it's been painted in spots at least four times one of which was a really poor quality paint. He has to redo the rear because it reacted poorly to the primer.

I new there was some suspect damage to a minor accident etc. (both front and rear). But 4 times? A brother should have clear bra'd it when he bought it :P It'll look nice and new when I'm done.

Good luck JR!  Aer you doing this just to get the chips out?

Yup! Getting it clear bra'd too. It's actually because I added the USP lower lip to the front. But the front hood, bumper and wheel flairs as well as the rockers were toast. There was some cracking in the rear bumper and a few other chips around the car that needed to get cleaned up. It's getting three dents PDR'd, then detailed and I should have it back on Tuesday. I kind of miss it.
