Newbie from Summit County
« on: May 03, 2009, 03:15:41 PM »
Hi all,

Wanted to introduce myself. Been out of the VW's since moving up here but have had several VW's past; GTI's Corrado, R32.  Picked up an 83 GTI a few months ago and have slowly working on it (always wanted an MK1).  Got a few things done so far -

Suspension - done.
Exhaust - done.
Tunes - done
USRT shifter - done

Starting the paint process now and replacing a smacked fender.  I hope to make to a few events this summer. Here are a few pics.  Enjoy.

-Ryan

Welcome, good looking GTI, rust on the outside appears to be pretty minimal. Are the floors all solid?

I always have my eye open for a MKI GTI as well. Missed out on a few. If the economy were a little better I'd still be looking.

Yeah,  floors are perfect no rust at all.  Just some surface body stuff... easy to fix.
