Short-notice GTG this Saturday the 8th.
« on: March 06, 2003, 02:59:06 PM »
Amanda, Alan and I hope to meet up Saturday at Jay's if he's around.  I hope to fabricate/install the cell phone mount and maybe paint my grille depending on weather.  Also gotta fabricate mounts for my roof rack fairing, which should be pretty easy.  Might be a good day to wash the cars too, after the weather we've had.  Forecast is great....we'll see.  If Jay's not around maybe we'll end up elsewhere.  Anyone else want to meet up?

Let me know....

It did for that last post.  Thanks for the update.  Does anyone that plans on getting together know how to get to Jay's?

Jay-G is not gonna be around this weekend, so no meeting at his place.  He did kindly offer the use of his dremel, though.  So, we can meet at my place or anywere else you may fancy.  At my place we cannot wash cars but should be fine for anything else, including beer.  There's beer at my place, too.  Any suggestions?

I have a dremel and I know how to use it. I am the power tool queen. The things you boys don't know about me. I'm down for beer and whatever  uh, mods you want to work on, Pat. We can also play with the interior pics/photoshop if you want. Oh, and I'm also bringing my tutu.

SWEET!  Alright Jay-G, forget about me picking up the tool tomorrow morning.  Thanks for the offer.  Looks like you'll still have a virgin tool, huh?  So, Saturday at my place or elsewhere?  Anyone have a radio removal tool that plans on coming?

Yeah your place. I'll bring beer. I can bring food too if you want. I can't be there til 1 though.
Was there a specific bit or attachment you need for the Dremel? I have like 100 but want to know if maybe Jay had something I don't.. I also have a radio removal tool too- it's called a crowbar.
If you guys get bored in the evening, there is a party in Denver that I might crash. I haven't decided if I want to go yet or not.

Oh also.. if you want to pull one of your plugs to check it out we can probably do that too. Depends on how dirty I am willing to get Saturday.

I don't know what type of bit I'll need.  Is it a PITA to bring them all?  I would guess they all are in one case.  I email The Price Girls to see if I could get his tool....you know, for removing the radio.
As for the party....unlikely.  I'll we waking up early Sunday to ski.
I'm not too worried about the plugs, although if we're bored we could do that.  And what's this crap about you not wanting to get dirty?  You're already one of the dirtiest girls I know.

No, I'll bring them all. I should be able to find a tool that will fit your needs. Just making sure you didn't have "special needs", you know.
I'm all about getting dirty if there's a way to get clean.. sponge bath, shower, whatever.   :D
I may have a mod we can do on my car this weekend too.. it's an easy one though. Depends if I get the parts.

Pat, are you gonna get those radio removal tools from Winston?  I'd like to try removing my radio also to look into how to install a gauge in the center console.  I've read that we can make tools to remove the radio on a Passat by cutting in half the metal from a hanging folder.  I haven't tried that yet though.  Don't know if an A4 will be different.

What time are you gonna start playing around with your car?  I've got a class in Lakewood at 2:30 and so would probably have to leave your place by 2.  I could show up any time before that though and we can start by taking out a plug from each our cars.

And, can you email me directions to your place? (or post them here)

Finally, are you on AIM or MSN or Yahoo messenger?  If not, get with the program!

Not sure about the tools yet.  Still waiting for an answer.  I suppose since he was under the knife today it'll take him a bit longer than the typical 30 second response time.
Chas and I have tried the hanging file folder thing but can't get it to work.  I still have them in my car if you want to give it a shot.  I've been told VW/Audi use the same tool.
I'm not concerned about the plugs, but if you want to do it I'm still up for it.  It'd be good to learn about it.
AIM?  Don't they sell mutual funds?  I know all about MSN....they sell Internets.

My address:.
8457 S. Reed #101
Littleton, CO  80128

From downtown:
Go S on Santa Fe
W on Mineral for 1-2 minutes
SW on Platte Canyon at the light (may be labeled something else) near Conoco
It'll curve to go straight west after the stop sign
Left 100 yards after the stoplight
Near end of street on your right

I'll have my phone on

Sorry I can't make it this Saturday, I got a date...and she is hella cuter than you guys (Wendy and Amanda excluded  ).  I'll try to make the next GTG...

What happened to a Garage day next weekend to help out Chas and Mike with suspensions?  Will that conflict with Pat's "slide show"?

I'm taking the C-ring from Boulder.. tell me if I'm correct- get off at Wads and go north, take a right by the gas station then another right to your complex?
What are those streets? It was dark and too late for me to remember last time.

Whoa!  I didn't realize that was the same weekend.  Uh oh.  Does anyone know details of Chas' installation?

Perfect.
Wads north to the first stoplight/gas station.  That's Chatfield. Turn right.
Go maybe ten-15 seconds and take a right on Reed.  I'm near the end on the right.

Not sure yet, I will have to check with Mike and Chas.  I had not heard of anything definite...but as soon as I hear something I will let you know.

It seems like they were planning on Saturday the 15th, but it also seems like there was never much of a commitment from people who actually know how to do it- plenty of people who don't know what they're doing.. like me. Not sure about Spec, and Winston's incapacitated..so it seemed kind of up in the air. I don't see why we can't do a garage day and a party in the same weekend. ;) But then I'm not married and don't have any youngin's. Heh heh.

I think people will start showing up around 11:00.  Probably be there most of the day thought, with the exception of a short trip to Home Depot.

Too damn funny Wendy.  You are so much fun sober I can't imagine how funny you must be drunk.

I missed today too.  I was feeling like ass most of the day.  Don't know if I ate something bad or what, but just woke up from a long-ass nap.  Anyway, I hope Pat and Amanda made some progress on the cell-phone thing.

We did! It is super sweet. Pat christened it the Amanda Mount. Or Mount Amanda. We haven't decided which. Should be some pics tomorrow of it. My car gets one next. ;)

P.S. Alan.. you coming to Chas'? And if so, do you have my mirrors, or does Jon still have them? I would love to put those in next weekend.

Btw wendy, we were drunk too, but instead of trying to type we were playing with power tools. Yeeeah. Good times.
