Title: Spring Detail Day - April 14, 2007
Post by: DenverPat on February 20, 2007, 10:30:57 AM
I realize it's a little early to start planning this, but the warm weather got me thinking about it.  I washed my car the other day and realized how much love the paint is in need of.  All the sand, mag chloride, tar, etc. has really taken a toll on my car over the last few months.
How would you guys feel about having a detail GTG on either April 14th or April 21st?  Both are Saturdays.

maybe the 21st, but I alreay have plans on the 14th.

My car definately needs the attention.

Booyah! I'm there any Saturday and may have my unveiling if the weather is nice and the roads are clear of sand.  :D

Hey guys, I just got back from Detailer's Paradise (http://www.detailersparadise.com).  Nick said he'd be willing to host a detail day on April 14th!   :D   He's got enough space to do three cars at once, a kegerator ( :beermug: ) and a grill.
Who's in?

Wish I could get the time off from work.

That is exactly 1 year from the rainy detail day we had here last year.

If I am feeling sick, cough, cough, and can't make it to work, I will try to swing by ;)

I still can't do the 14th, but might be able to swing by for a bit.

I know this comment is a bit dated, but I found myself :roflmao:

I might be down for this.  It really depends on the time of day.  I have been recruited as an assistant coach of my daughters soccer team and games are on Saturday.

If plans proceed as planned :D I should be driving back from sunny southern California in my new ride. So I won't be able to make it.

Ya know JR, you better be driving back a pretty sweet ride. Cause you've got all of us wondering what the hell you're getting. So I'll be interested to see what ya bring back from Cali.

Great to hear, Andy!  :)

I just got off the phone with Nick.  He said we're welcome to come as early as we want.  He mentioned 8:00, but we could go earlier if people want.  It turns out I will be detailing my own car there on Saturday.  I was hoping to get it done before then so I could help others, but it's not going to work out that way unfortunately.  This is going to take place regardless of weather conditions.
I expect I'll be taking up one of the three bays the entire day, as I have a lot of work to do on my car.   I hope I can get it all done in one day.
For any people that have never been there, it's a great place to hang out.  There is a nice big TV with plenty of car videos, a keg, couch and strippers.  Well....maybe not strippers, but you never know who may show up.

Sweet, I am really looking forward to this Pat, thanks again for setting it up. We are planning on bringing both cars and hoping to do the S if possible, it needs it bad and I bought a bunch of stuff from him last year just before I got sick. :( Need to finally use it.

Hey I am going to tentatively plan to come at this point.  I don't know how long we are going to stay (probably me and Ethan), but we'll come by in the FJ and scare the small animals in the area.

Can't wait!

Cool, I can't wait to see those of you I haven't seen in a while and meet those of you I haven't met yet.  I will probably be leaving around 11ish, since I will have Ethan with me.  If by some miracle, he is having a great time and wants to stay, we will hang out longer, but for a 2.5 year old, that is an outside bet.

:)

looking forward to seeing all of you there tomorrow!!!

I'll bring a pack of bratts, and a bunch of marinated asparagus which I was meaning to grill tonight but was occupied with tidying the interior of my car and removing all the tar off the sides of my car, and in the process drained the battery while blasting my stereo and charing my iPod.

Damn, it's already 1am and I'm kinda drunk!

Wish I coulda made it.  I was out looking at houses with my wife.  To our disgust, all we saw was overpriced crap.

If anyone has a house (or knows of one) in the Englewood/Greenwood Village area for sale that's not a a $hitbomb, lemme know!

There's a few in my hood, Centennial, not far from where you're looking. However, I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of price and all that. I am down by Colorado Blvd and County Line Rd.  I grew up at Yosemite and County Line Rd in Willow Creek, I highly recommend that neighborhood. Be careful though, all the lower priced houses in Willow Creek need updating as they are about 30 years old. Not much different than where I am now.

Anyway, anything east of Broadway should be good for short a DTC/Meridian commute.

Price is dependent on what it is.  We're willing to pay more for a place that's been redone vs having to redo it ourselves...

Still a week or two out on it. We've been pretty casual about getting work done, and really have only been working on it one day a week at most. I'll be posting up in the build thread as soon as it's running!
