Rocky Mountain Club B5 is having its 3rd Annual GTG from Friday, May 27th to Sunday, May 29th. Part of this GTG will include the renting Second Creek Raceway on Saturday the 28th (8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) Unlike previous years, this year we will have limited participation. We will limit the number of drivers at the track to 35. This will ensure the track is never crowded and people get as much driving in as they can stand. :) It will cost $75 for unlimited driving. This fee will also pay for lunch and drinks throughout the day.
If anyone would like to attend but will not drive, the cost is $5. This is just to cover the food and drinks. Additionally, please keep in mind everyone that enters the grounds must sign the waiver before proceeding past the house at the gate and getting to the paddock area. This applies to everyone, even if you’re not driving. It costs nothing to go for rides around the track with other drivers.
Like last year, we plan on having instructors available for anyone looking for help. Rick Snyder of www.snymo.com (http://www.snymo.com) and Mark Bradley, both former Quattro Club driving instructors, will be there to help. They both have extensive experience and know this particular track very well. They will be a great asset to all of us.
The event is open to all friends and family of RMCB5. If you know of any others that would like to go, feel free to invite them.
I will be handling the financials. I'm asking for people to submit a $75 check made payable to me.
If you'd like to go, please post here and I will send you an e-mail with payment information. If you have any questions, please post them here so others can see the response, too.
Track Prep:
You may want to consider bringing sunscreen, stopwatches, digicams, and videocams.
Some other things you'll want to check on your car are oil, brakes and tire pressure. Be sure to come with a full tank of gas, too!
Anyone that goes on the track is required to wear a helmet. If you don't have one, see if you can find one to borrow before track day. The last thing we want is a lack of helmets that will limit everyone's time on the track. If you can’t come up with one don't worry. There might be a couple extras there to borrow.
Additionally, Autoworks Colorado has graciously volunteered to sponsor our track day. They are a garage near Kipling and C-470 that specializes in German cars. I've had exceptional experiences there over the last year, as have other club members that have gone there. Mark, the owner, has offered some great prizes for track day attendees. We will have a raffle for the prizes at the drivers meeting before ever getting on the track, so be sure you get there early! You have to be there to be eligible for the drawing. The prizes are:
1. Two sets of Eibach Pro-Kit springs for an Audi S4 (B5 platform) These normally sell for about $300 per set and drop the car 1" to 1.5".
2. Four $100 gift certificates good for labor and/or parts of your choice
Yep, that's $1,000 worth of prizes. Let's hear it for Autoworks Colorado!

First of all good to meet you yesterday. :)
What is taking place on the other days? You said 27-29? I believe that I would be up for the track day. I will be ready and my GO will be ready!

What is taking place on the other days? You said 27-29? I believe that I would for real be up for the track day. I will be ready and my GO will be ready!
On the following Sunday we will likely have a drive and/or BBQ. More details on that will follow in the next few weeks in a different thread. This thread is strictly for the track day.

That would be good, but I try and give the all the locals a chance to sign up since that's who it's for primarily anyway...just my thoughts.

Jay already posted on CB5 in the events + gatherings section.
And it looks like I will NOT make this event :( . Have a friend's wedding out in Washington state that weekend.

Well, it looks like I'm out. My sister's coming out and will only be here for two days so I'll ride on Saturday and hopefully Sunday...
I'll try to stop by with the ladies and take a few laps with whoever
-
I will offer my passengers seat to your crew!

I'd like to come. New member, hope I can be included. 8)

I'd like to come. New member, hope I can be included. 8)
Of course, just get a check to Denver Pat per the instructions at the top of the thread and you will be added. It is first come first server and we are limiting space so the track doesn't get crowded.
-
well, 35 people is still a decent amount of people.
-
That's what we had the last couple years and there were several times throughout the day when the track was totally empty. I'd guess there to be an average of five cars out there at a time.
-
Hey Pat! I haven't been on line in a few days. Sorry for not getting to this thread before now. Anyhow, send me your payment info if you would. chasgordon@hotmail.com
Thanks man!

-
I am there. Not sure if I will do any driving yet.
-
it is now looking like I will be out for this. I think this will be the weekend that my dad is choosing to get re-married. I'll know for sure this week on the date for the wedding.
If I can make it, you'll get a check this week, but I have a feeling that I will not be able to go.
-
bumpa-dizzle-doo

I am most likely coming... but just need to check some stuff out first. Also unsure which car I would bring out

Rats, I will be in Sweden that weekend but I may make it to a track there. I'll look forward to pictures. I had hoped to get to a track before my trip to work on my skills before tracking a borrowed car, maybe I can take a morning off sometime and hit SCR.

Pat, That is OUTSTANDING! Thank you so much for arranging that!
Now, SIGN UP PEOPLE! :D

Pat, I am taking it that the list on Page 1 is up to date and that there is still room. Assuming so, I am dropping the $ in the mail today.
Found out the wedding I thought was that weekend is actually the weekend prior. Yeah, now I get to do both.

Track is beggin' to be driven folks! :)

Ill be training monkeys for third shift at work. Sucks, I never get to do anything fun any more.

I should end up showing up with my dad and my sister...I highly doubt we'll be doing any driving, but we'll definately take a spin or three :P
-
I posted on 719 - looks like some folks here in the spings will sign up also, should be a great turn out
-
*bump*
Alright everyone, this is only a month away now, and we have eight paid participants. If you plan on going to this, now's the time to start getting the payment together. Also, please spread the word so we're sure we'll have enough people to make this happen. I'd like to get the down payment sent in soon. Thanks.
-
:) glad my check finally got there.
Pat, are you going to sign yourself up?
Everyone else, come on, you gotta sign up so that my pig of an allroad can have nice lightweight cars to chase around the track!
Oh, and I am first in line for rides in J. Wilson's new Porsche GT3 which he is brining that day. :P
-
I'm on J. Wilson's list, too!
I'm signed up as the event organizer, not a paid participant. This goes for me and our instructors. I figure with all the work I've put into this I should be able to get in for working the event. Oh, and the Autoworks Colorado sponsorship certainly helps my cause, too! :D

Absolutely! Just making sure you were going too. I figured you all counted towards the 35 available driving spots. So, it is 35 spots + organizer(s) + instructors?
-
You got it!
-
Oh, and I am first in line for rides in J. Wilson's new Porsche GT3 which he is brining that day. :P
I still won't be able to sign up for an entire day since I have family out...unless my dad wants to fork over the cash... I'm gonna try and talk him in to it. I should have new pads on by then so my car will be trackable. Although with my suspicion that my clutch is going, I'm very hesitant to take it out.
Anyway, we'll DEFINATELY be there and hang out for a bit (if we don't drive) if we can ride in a GT3. A ride around in Jay's scout had me at 99%...but now I'm at 100%. I don't know him, so if those who do can hook us up, that'd be cool.
-
I don't know him, so if those who do and hook us up, that'd be cool.
I have known Jim for, wow, 10+ years. ever since he was lusting after his old boxter. Used to work with him.
He joined us last year with the red C2. He had some fun so was happy to sign up again when this year's event came along.
Anyway, it is a cool ride - he just had it at 2nd creek for the PCA track day last week. he says it was scarry fast - almost too much power for that track. I cant wait. :P
Now, how to make a 4300lb pig keep up...

Bad news, I am double-booked that weekend, and am going to go "meet the parents" of my girlfriend Gen. Obviously if I were to say "hey I will fly up there to meet them next year with you because I love my car stuff more..." I would be castrated. So, since I wanted to see how the M3 would perform on the track, I have convinced Pat to take it over there for the weekend, so he will be driving it some along with his car too I am sure. Make sure to take plenty of photos for me so I can see how everyone did!

I am waiting on my work schedule, which will be out May 6th, If they give me the weekend off, I will be there, now to decide on which car to bring, the heavily modified outback with sticky tires, or the standard MINI.
-

Both. start in one for the morning (the subbie - I want to see how it compares to the ar) then have your S/O bring over the other car and hang out for the afternoon. then in the afternoon you can drive one, and while it cools, go out in the other. :D My doing that is the only way I am going to get to drive both the ar and the 330 in the same day out there. (I also want to see how the E46 330 compares to JDawg's E36 M3.)
PS - if you find a lightweight trailer to put it on, I would also tow the mini over for you. gotta love having a tow vehicle that is also a track vehicle. :P
-

that would be great. Betsy is ok driving a stick, but she is having knee surgery tomorrow, and she won't be able to drive a stick shift for about 2 months....
I would LOVE to have both cars out there, just don't know how to swing it. I am excited to see how the outback compares to the allroad as well. I know one thing for sure, my brakes are not up to snuff compared to the allroad, they are small and soft...so I would expect that they will fade quickly. I will push them, but not too hard, next spring, or maybe this fall, I will be doing a brembo big break kit front and rear. That will make a lot of difference. That is the weakest point of the car, the brakes...fine for daily driving, but fear that when pushed and heated, they will not perform like yours do.
-
Are there really that many open slots??
-
Are there really that many open slots??
Yes, seems to be. Although I think I just convinced 2 more folks to sign up. One is a co-worker with a BMW 528 - a car I would call deceptively quick. Also his neighbor with a new body style A8 might join us. Both are interested to see how their cars will run on the track. :D
-
Nice! I used to have a 528e, but it was an '87 and slow as hell. Nonetheless, I loved the car. It did a lot of things right, and was the only other car I've ever owned. And yes, there are still plenty of spots open.
-
It would be a shame if not to many people showed. I guess that means better odds for the prizes and more time for everyone who attends. SWWWEEEET!!!
-
I am officially on the Mabye list.... I will have to see how the month starts out.
I hope to be able to attend.
-
I linked this at both the Mini site and the LegacyGT site
www.northamericanmotoring.com
and
www.legacygt.com
hope that is OK, I am sure there are a few more guys there that might be interested in joining us...
-
Thanks Jon.

I'm quite possibly in, but being the financially strapped law student that I am, I'm going to have to wait till the first week of May is over to see if I can afford the misc. things required (helmet, car inspection, track fee, gasoline). I'd bring the A4 out, obviously, since that is my only car! If there are any slots open by the time I get things straight, I'll be signing up.
Ben
-
Hey Ben, it's good to see you here! Keep in mind, there's no inspection fee. There will likely be helmets available to borrow, too. It'll cost you $75 plus whatever is costs to run the car, that's it. WoOt, Ben's here!
-
being the financially strapped law student that I am,Ben
where at? If DU you are really financially strapped, if CU, kind of financially strapped. Either way it is a fun experience.
I got my JD from DU in '95.

If you're wanting a warm-up you might consider the Audi Club Event that is coming up in May...
ACNA web site (http://www.audiclubrmc.org/)
-
Well guys, we have seven paid entrants so far. I need to have the money ready to pay for the track soon, and I am not willing to pay for it myself and hope that enough people sign up to make this work. Initially I did not put a deadline on payments because I thought it was very likely we would have more people wanting to participate than the 35 allowed. However, it looks like that's not the case so far. If we don't have 29 paid participants by the end of next week (5/14), there is a very good chance this will not happen. I know I've spoken with a few of you that have told me you'll be sending a check to me very soon. Please get those to me ASAP. We need others to make the commitment soon, too. I just don't want everyone to think they can show up on track day with a check in hand ready to drive. Please let me know if you have any questions.
-
I sure am hoping you get those other checks soon. I really want to see this happen.
Jay - can you bump this up on the home page too to get some more visibility?
-
Pat,
You might talk to Bob and see if he can cut you some slack if the early turn-out isn't as expected. I guess the options are:
1. Cancel
2. Negotiate a sliding rate with SCR and keep the event private,
3. Join in with an open track day - this could be anything from not much difference to a huge difference depending on who and what shows up to drive that day.
If attendence is down I'll pay to drivce as there won't be much instructing to do.
-
A friend of mine just sent me a link to this thread.
It's great to have such an event, and it would be a real shame if it falls through. To that end, I'd like to ask your permission to offer the opportunity up to my own RMGTO (http://www.rmgto.com) members.
I certainly don't want to intrude, but my members are always keen to spend a day at the track.
Thanks.

Hey Doric, glad to see you here. I assume you're Alex's friend? We'd love to have the GTO guys out there with us, so feel free to post it. Thanks for the interest.

'Alex' doesn't ring a bell, but it's hard to keep up sometimes with the local community.
I'll let my guys know about this and toss a link up on the RMGTO website. Thanks. 8)

Hey ya Pat,
I've sent the link to Colorado Rocky Mountain Reef Club (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=a5116873a5ca73d542d543122d78a8f5&threadid=584838)
also, one of our construction contractors Colorado Boring, these guys love to race......
Hopefully some of them will sign up
Alex

Count me in.
-
Pat,
I'm pulling out as I just learned about the Second Creek Driving School on May 13th through May 15th. I need the lessons and due to budgeting issues I can't do both events.
Sorry, I know you need the headcounts.
-

Sorry, I know you need the headcounts.
Did you see in the original post we will have instructors available for teaching? ColoradoMark is a former quattro Club driving instructor, and Rick races Speed World Challenge. Both will be great assets to all of us, especially at $75.
-
I'm in.
-
Quick question...I have a non-Audi driving friend who would also potentially join us for the track day, and he would be driving my car.
First, is it then $75 for each person driving? In this case, $75 for me and $75 for my friend (Mike)?
Second, is anybody planning on bringing helmets? Because it is unlikely that I will be able to purchase one before the meet.
Ben
-
Ben~
Yep, it's $75 per driver.
There will likely be helmets to borrow. Maybe someone on here will volunteer theirs to share with you. Then you could just alternate with them for track time.
-
Ok, Pat, sounds good. I should be able to send a check here very soon, and my friend's will likely be along with it.
Ben
-
I am trying to get a couple of guys to commit. One is from work who owns a 05' A4 and the other a neighbor with a GTI 1.8t.
-
I just signed up my son - it will be his first time driving on the track. He's only 17, but he's been autocrossing since a week after his 16th birthday. He also did the Winter Driving School at Steamboat this year.
What' s amazing is that there were no complaints from the mom front in having him come! I think we're wearing her down.
-
wOot woOt! 1st post 4 mee!
So I finally signed up for this board. I don't have an Audi or a Vdub but I do have a rather formidable weapon to bring to SCR. Hehe, a few of you know what it is. I'll be sure to bring some insightful jibberish to this site. Pat, I'll drop off teh check this weekend..
c'mon people, sign up!!!

BigD? I hope that D stands for Dave! :P

BigD? I hope that D stands for Dave! :P

I'm in for the track day. Either bringing the S4 Avant or a tasty new track car. :D
Let me know where to send the check...
-
Did you get the E-30?
-
I'll know for sure on Tuesday...
-
well, it is official, I have the weekend off, so yes, I will be there!!!
Gonna bring the subie instead of the MINI, I want to test the waters with the new ride and see what it and the new tires can do....but don't want to abuse the car...just some fun fast driving and a little pushing.
So, Pat, wanna hook up this week and I can get you the check in person? Maybe lunch or something? Let me know
cheers
jon
-
sweet jon! glad to hear you can make it. i want to check out those cusco's in person! there's a few other subaru guys coming out, so we've gotta repruhzent..
-
Is the list of who is coming current?
-
The list is of payments I've received is current, however in the last three or four days I've had a bunch of emails from people asking for the payment info, so I expect to have a bunch more added to the list very soon.
-
Can you send the payment info to
culinary01@comcast.net
thanks
Gary
-
pat,
My guess is you'll see a lot of action soon. I've seen posts about this event on Rennlist, the local BMW Club forum and, I think, the SCCA web group. BTW, everyone is very positive about the group and the event, let's make sure that we keep our good name!
-
Thanks for the update and help, Mark. I'm getting more and more emails asking for payment info, so it's looking good.
-
I'm still planning on making it out there to hang out and go for some rides. I have a Dentist appt at 11am so it will be after that. I might cruise out on the old Hondamatic.
-
sweet jon! glad to hear you can make it. i want to check out those cusco's in person! there's a few other subaru guys coming out, so we've gotta repruhzent..
I need an alignment bad, hopefully I can get in before then, but so far, so good!!!
-
Mr. Pat,
You should start getting some feedback from local SRT forums....I was told a bit a go that it was to hit there soon.....hopefully some of them will join.
Alex
-
Great, glad to hear it. The more people the better. Let's hit our max of 35!
-
No doubt! I would, but you know my situation....I may still go to watch
-
Pat, mailed my check today.
-
Well, darn, it fast approaches and there is still no chance that the car will be track-ready. But I'll be there with my stopwatch! Oh, and I'll be bringing this along: "Standalone" Fuel Management Install - DynoJet PC (http://www.rmcb5.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2827)
-
Yeah, it is going to be a last minute thing for me too. I am waiting on a tranny and new quaife for my tranny. IF I get those in time and installed/broken in before the 28th.... time is running out for me.
-
Count me in for the 28th. Check( to?) please.
Eric
-
If you'd like to go, please post here and I will send you an e-mail with payment information. If you have any questions, please post them here so others can see the response, too.

OOH OOH OOH 22 we only NEED 7 more!!! c'mon guys, talk your ladies into driving! (i won't be on the track at the same time, but it'd be fun to watch, lol)

Pat,
make sure you save a slot for me..
I mailed my check yesterday.
thanks all for allowing me to join along
brant
-
Count me in. Check's in the mail.
-
Pat,
I may have recruited a few people that were at the ACNA event this weekend to come out on the 28th and drive.
Do you need anyone to work flags at track out?
-
ITS FILLING UP!!!!! WOOOHOOO!
-
Pat,
I may have recruited a few people that were at the ACNA event this weekend to come out on the 28th and drive.
Do you need anyone to work flags at track out?
Fine work, Mark. I know Kasim was planning on coming when I talked to him at Detailer's Paradise a couple weeks ago. It's good to know there'll be a few more. This event is definitely a go after all the people that have signed up in the past week.
I don't know that we'll need flaggers, but if someone wants to volunteer for it we'd certainly appreciate it. The last couple years everything worked out great with no flags. As long as everyone follows the rules discussed at the drivers' meeting we should be just fine.
-
This event is definitely a go after all the people that have signed up in the past week.
That is some great news with which to start a Monday morning. I can't wait. see you all at the track!
-
ahhh yes, all the work i've done won't go without due use. :D
-
howdy. I'd like to come w my 1984 ALFA GTV6. I've got a B6 a4 1.8t
but she's an automatic, and I need more time on second creek.
Please send payment info to me.
thanks
Jim L
-
Nice! I think it'll be the only Alfa out there. Very cool 8)
-
Is there still room? I'd like to attend - please send registration info. Thanks!

Hey Pat, I know I haven't been seen around here in a while, but I have been way busy with life and stuff in general.
Anyhow, I woun't be able to attend the Track Day events or any of the schedualed activities this year. We made some plans to be out of state that weekend. I'm not too happy about this at all and am really pissed that I have to miss out on track day yet again. :x  :x
I'm hoping to at least stop by in the morning to see you guys for a little bit before heading out of town.
Thanks for putting this all together. I'm sure it's going to be a total blast.
Maybe we can do another track day later this year.
-
HEYYYY ALL! Can I come drink beer in the parking lot??
No really, on a serious note...I've missed you guys. I have wonderful memories of when I first met you all on the Regional Forum at ClubB5. Amanda, Boris, Dave, Rian, Chas, Jay, Win, Jon....
I wanna stop by and see some old faces (well 'cept for Jon, Chas, Andrew, and, uh, who else won't be there?)
And someone PM me the scoop on Boris. I'd like to drop him a line.
Peace Out!
W
Hey and is that Charles I see?? Talk about blast from the past! Nice to see ya back! (Dang I've been gone too long as usual  )
-
Wendy, I will be there.....but in a new track mobile, one only a few have actually seen in person. Hope to see you out there
-
.....but in a new track mobile, one only a few have actually seen in person....
Is it german?? :D
-
Is it german?? :D
Nope, fully RICE!!!!
-
eeeexxxcellent.. nearly full...
-
Wow....
I see 34 names on the list now.
I take it that the event is now a certainty!
all right,
I'm looking forward to it.
can't wait to meet people.
Please come over and introduce yourself
(I guess now I have to go finish the car preparations!)
brant
-
The event is now full. Please check the list in the first post to confirm your attendance. If you think you should be on the list but are not, please let me know. If you've sent me payment through the mail in the last couple days but are not on the list, your check has not yet made it to me and you can consider the check shredded.
The drivers' meeting and raffle is scheduled to start at 8:30, so please ensure you're there in time for that. I expect to be there around 8:00.
Wait, on second thought, the fewer people that are there for the raffle, the better chance I have of winning something. On second thought, it'd be just fine for you all to show up around 8:45. I'll be happy to line my pockets with the goods!
See you then! :D
-
i can use those S4 lowering springs... for, uh....
a coffee table.. lol

Hi I'm new to the forum. Coming out for the track day @ 2nd creek
on the 28th. Wondering what cars we'll see out there.
I'll start.
Jim Lentini
1984 ALFA Romeo GTV6 2.5l
Engine puts ~125hp to the rear. no engine mods.
Lowered front and rear. Some poly bushings.
My friend Brian is bringing
1983 Porsche 911SC Targa 3.0l
No mods (I think) to the car other than shocks
and lowered to euro ride height.
Anyone bringing any 4000s or other 80's Iron ?
bests
Jim L
-
i'm bringing my modded '04 STi.
-
I'll have my '95 993, my son will be there in his '95 90.
Perhaps a better question is: "How many laps have you driven around SCR/other road courses?" Me: over a thousand/ maybe 1500. my son 0/0.
-
I have had several days out at SCR, not a great driver, but I do have some fun. i never push the car to the limits, just spirited.
I will be bringing my Subaru Outback, and if I can find someone to drive my other car out there, I will also have my 2003 MINI Cooper.
-
I plan to split the day between my 2003 allroad, and my wife's 2001 330i.
My friend Jim will be there with his GT3. (I have first dibs on a ride along - I think pat called second. the line forms there.)
Jon - seriously if you can find a trailer weighing less than ~700 lbs empty which will tow the mini, I will tow it out there with the allroad. It would be fun to have the tow car run the track faster than the car it towed to the track. :P
-
Shit Jon, you should have let me know in advance, I would have driven the Mini out there for you. :(
-

are you going? I will probably only be there through lunch, so I am looking for someone to drive out there with me, then they can just go back to my house with the car when ready....and then grab their own car from there.
If you are going, I would love for you to drive the MINI out there for me, and would even let you drive it if you wanted.

I seriously doubt there is a sub 700lb trailer that can support the MINI, it weight about 2600lbs or so.
I have a couple of friends that may come out, so hopefully one of them can bring it with them.

I got 3rd dibs on the GT3 ride along!!!!!!

Hehe, fourth?

OK, should we start an official GT3 ride along thread?
Andrew D.
Pat M.
Jon K
Andrew A.
Mark B.
-
5th??
On the other hand I'm certain that he must need some instruction before he's turned loose with other passengers (no matter how skilled he really is). Rick and I will enact executive privelege and declare first and second rides.
-
Dibs on the Caterham Super 7. 8)

OK, I'll take 3rd there.
-
I wanna ride with someone, anyone, well anyone who is there around lunch or so. I wont be there until then.
-
Super 7 list:
Pat M.
Jon K.
Andrew D.
-
Oh, and what, there is no Allroad ride along line? hehe.
I could put back on the high profile winters and not bother to brake for the hairpin, raise the car up and just offroad it from the hairpin back to turn one.
cutting off the boot and the front straight would make my lap times faster. :P
-
haha, well, no one is lining up for the outback either
mmmmmm....Super 7

Jay, you can ride in anything and with anyone, if you want, I would also be happy to let you try out the outback as well, since you are our administrator and all, I think you deserve a "pro-bono" few laps behind the wheel of something fast.
-
Is there a list of what everyone is bringing on Saturday? How can I put dibs down on rides unless I have the "insiders" information?
I spent yesterday in the shop helping my son get the brakes on his 90 all ready and putting the stock suspension back on the MINI. I took the MINI for a quick spin around the block when I finished. I hadn't driven it since last December, I had forgotten how much fun it is (even stock). I'm tempted to drive it on Saturday instead of the 993!
-
you still have your leda's? I thought you sold those. Bring the MINI, then let me drive it!!!!!

heh, first in line for THAT ride!
mmmmmm....Super 7
I was lucky enough to go for a ride in the one that's coming out next week when i was out there on the Dec31 last year. SSSssssssoooooo much fun. Then I started watching the Prisoner and got all excited about it again.
-

Yes, I still have the Leda's. They were sold put the person renigged on the deal.
-
that sucks, if I had the cash right now, I would buy them from you, but just did a million things to the outback, and have a few medical bills to cover now.
I can't believe you have not driven you MINI since December...man, that car got NO love since the Porsche arrived
-
It was tough to drive it without any front suspension! If you're serious about the Leda's I'll finance you. They're not doing me any good sitting in a cardboard box! Maybe you would like some nice Stoptech's to go with them.
-
Sweet Super 7!

we will talk on Saturday

I love the list of rides.
I was thinking the same thing, as I'm very curious as to whom and what will be there.
I might want to beg for a ride in that alfa....
I should be bringing a 914 out and if I can figure out how to post pics I'll try and add one later.

Hehehe, I second that! Can't wait to see you all again. I'm trying to convince my dad to bring the toterhome/trailer out, but it's a lot of work for just the day. The SRT4 has a little damage so we might not bring it out (sorry, but Mid-Ohio took it's toll....). Anyway, I'll be there with the Focus bright and early!
Rick
-
Rick,
Tell me about your focus.
I love the focus.
I took my zx3 to 2nd creek about 4 times. In fact did a school in it at 2nd creek just last april. But then sold it, and bought an SVT at the end of april. Have never driven the SVT on the on the track but just love the car!

I am getting so excited its insane.
But Pat, I don't know if I am going to be able to make it here by 8:30 or whatever, is that okay?
Ill be there with my GF and we are both driving my 2001 Allroad Tiptronic. (Talk about an Anti Track Car!)
-

that is fine, make sure you have a chat with either Rick or Mark, the instructors, prior to getting on the track. We are requiring everyone to have a run down before going out to drive...for everyone's safety.
Get there when you can.
cheers
jon
-
Great. People are going to be there all day right?
-
yes, we have the track ALL day!!!
-
I remember that there was a 5$ fee for spectators to cover food/drinks.
If my wife stops by for 20 minutes, but doesn't eat/drink, should she bring 5 bucks to get in?
brant
-
Is there any limit to how many spectators come? I have a bunch of friends that want to come. They will be allowed in the pits and everything right?

hey, at least I won't be the only allroad there!
-
Hey at least you have H Sways and a gearbox!
What about dogs, any chance I can bring my really mellow dog to hang out with us? There will always be someone watching him, he will make a great track dog!
-

Jon and Pat can jump in if I am wrong, but I figure if my kids are OK being there your dog probably is too. You'll just have to be sure he stays out of traffic.
That, and if he eats any of the food you'll have to pony up the $5. :P
-
people just visiting are FREE, if they want anything to eat or drink, we are asking an additional $5.
Pets are fine, but PLEASE make sure they stay AWAY from the track. An animal can cause a serious accident and may take the animals life...none of us want that.
Everyone is welcome, but we ask that you don't let other people drive. They must wear a helmet if they ride along with you, and there is no limit as to how many people come to visit. Everyone is welcome, and has complete access to the facilities and "pits/paddock".
Your payment only covers YOU to drive, not your car. Even though it is your car, that does not cover your friends to drive your car....we are very firm on this issue. If you are a paid driver, you can drive other cars, and have other paid drivers drive your car, but unpaid drivers will not be allowed. Only the 35 that have signed up will be allowed to drive on the track. We appreciate everyone's cooperation on this.
cheers
jon
-
So uh...anybody have any extra helmets?
Ben
-
I am bringing two spares. My spare size XL, and my Wife's which is either a SM or XS. I know at least one visitor who will want to use the large one for ride alongs. Other than that it should be free.
-
I should have at least two with me as well.
I'm the little black GTI with the goofy-tall guy driving ;)
-
What other cars should we expect to see there?
-
Well, for one, my rare and completely unprecedented 1998 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro! WOOOO!!!!
I heard something back a few days (or weeks) ago about the GTO club. I'd love to get a ride in one of those things.
Ben
-
I heard something about some GTO owner talking (friendly) smack to a B6 S4 owner. I'd certaily like to see that S4 whipp his ass!
-
Ha, pyite20v, i talked to you a while back when you were selling your A4! Looking forward to meeting you at track day.
I'll be there (hoprfully) in the Scout. Wonder how it will track (just kidding).
-
I will be there with my helmets, might have 2 spares for lenders. I will be driving my modified Subaru Outback, and if I can find a driver, my MINI Cooper as well.
-
I'm trying to round up some spare helmets as well.
If anyone has an intercom system for a motorcycle you might bring that along - it beats shouting. I have one that is hardwired into my helmet with a remote headset for passengers/students.
-
Did you ever pick yourself up an Audi?
-
Nope, my deadline passed to buy one so I am waiting until either this fall or next spring. I really really really miss my old 2.7T.
-
thanks to everyone that replied...
but what about the rest?
anybody else want to tell what they will be driving?
-
95 M3 with suspension and brake mods.
99.5 1.8T stage three with susp and brake mods.
-

nice cars!
Pat, what time did you say you would get there?
I need to unload a bunch of junk and wanted to get done with it well before the drivers meeting at 8:30.
thanks
brant
-
Brant~
I like how you think. I'll be there at 8:00. I also want to prep some things before the drivers' meeting so I can get right out on the track as soon as the meeting/raffle is over.
-
great... thanks again Pat...
so I'll see you at 8am and I'll stay out of your way (I'm sure you will be REAL busy getting things organized)
thanks again

brant
Well, as you are probably learning, the SVT is not an average Focus. The car lives to be driven hard and it loves Second Creek. You will have an absolute blast this weekend. Come find me and we'll talk and get you all set up.
As for my focus, other then wheels/tires and a K&N drop in filter, it's stock. Although, I have a set of Koni adjustables for the front sitting in boxes just waiting to be put in. I was hoping to get them in this week, but time is getting short. Might get them in on Friday, but we'll see.
Talk to you on Saturday,
Rick
-
So I won't be able to make it. Oh well. Maybe next time. But if anyone is going to the Cruise/GTG on June 4th (sat 5pm) to go down for the 719 GTG at Old C's... well I should be there and car all dialed in... well performance wise (still have some bling to come for DATR  ).
-
thanks Rick!
-
UPDATE:
Matt Daniels of http://www.getoutanddrive.com will be at SCR with us Saturday to photograph for us. Take a look at his website for examples of his work. There is an album of photos he took at the recent ACNA event at SCR on the top of the homepage. He will have prints available for order straight from his website by the end of the weekend.
-
That's AWESOME! Matt is very talented, glad to see that he will be there.
-
sweet! matt does a great job.
-
Oh, and because it can never be said enough, Thanks PAt, for busting so much ass and getting this all together.
-
Oh, and because it can never be said enough, Thanks PAt, for busting so much ass and getting this all together.
Yes! definately. But don't think that means we'll take it easy on you around the track. I'll have the allroad chasing that K04'd A4, and the 330 will be after the M3.
Oh, I am so looking forward to this.
-
Ill be there with a 330XI
Question: I bleed the brakes a month ago for PPIR track day, Do I need to bleed them again for saturday?
Looking forward to it...

It wouldn't hurt as SCR is pretty hard on brakes. But, my guess is that you're OK - PPIR isn't very hard on brakes, especially if you were there with the BMW cllub as it was moist and cool that weekend.
-
Maybe DCI should crash the event
I think Wendy & I are going to swing by and say hello to our long time friends. If I can find some pants maybe sneak my bike on the track  but seriously let me know if you'd like some DCi peeps to show up. I'm sure at least fork'n $5 to ride would be cool with most folks
PS: Can I make out with Winsten?
-
Hey Scott, we'd love to see you guys again. Get jo asses theya!
-
cool but can I still makeout with Win?
I'll post something on our site
-
I was just checking the weather forcast for Saturday and it looks great! It should be around 60 for the drivers' meeting and get up to 75 later in the day. Minimal chance of rain, too. Perfect![/i] :)
-
I have time blocked tonight to prep the cars. I can't wait. Looking forward to a fun day.
-
I will be prepping both cars and cleaning and packing all afternoon and evening to get an early start on Saturday....fun, fun car day!!!!
-
gragravar can you bring your VAG tool thingy? I need to level out my reverse raked ride.
Thanks
Scott

Similar but better? :)
-
we'll see. you have to overcome that green thing. :P
-
Sorry if this has been answered already, but is the 6pm end time flexible at all? Is that determined by SCR? I thought they had a dawn to dusk time frame?

we'll see. you have to overcome that green thing. :P

ITS HERE!!!! Yeah!! 8)

I wanted to publicly thank Pat for putting together a great event on Saturday. Everyone had a good time and was able to get their fill of driving. It was interesting to see the mix of cars that were there and how RMCB5 is evolving.
Next year we'll have to help Pat out and work a little harder because Second Creek will be gone. My vote will be to go to Pueblo, but that means more of a time commitment by everyone to pull it off. Pueblo is worth the drive, it's my favorite Colorado track - fast, elevation changes, some technical twisties and relatively safe.
-
I too want to public thank Pat and all the others that were responsible.
very nice event
very respectful participants.
and very good driving by everyone.
thanks for having me fellas!
brant

Here is me after riding with Rick.
Here is me after riding with Mark.
Here is me after the whole day. :) :o :D :P 8)
Thanks everyone!
-
Yep. Thanks Pat for organizing the event.
Thanks everyone for a fun and safe day! I had a blast.
-
I was going to thank Pat privately, but thought it might come across wrong, so here is my public THANKS!!! ;) It was a great event (as always) and thanks to everyone for having me out. I met some great people, saw a lot of old friends, and had a blast. Can't wait to do it again.
Rick

Did we make you mad or sick? I can't tell what that face is supposed to be???
Rick
-
Had a great time, got lots of track time. My vote is definately for Pueblo next year, that track rocks!!
-
Did we make you mad or sick? I can't tell what that face is supposed to be???
Rick
Definately not mad, just queasy stomach. Not your guys fault. I was just not used to Extreme Driving. Great rides, seriously, just made me a little queasy.
-
I'm glad the event was so good and so sad that I was not able to make it. I instead spent the the entire weekend trying to work out financing and home shopping crap. This is the worst process.
Even though I wasn't there I know Pat worked his butt off to get this whole thing together and I too want to say Thanks!
By the way, who were the "winners?"
-
i'll jump in here, too. thanks for organizing this, Pat. We need to hit up some more track time this season.
i was MUCH more comfortable as a passenger this time, i was actually relaxed in that Turbo S!
Thanks for everyone who participated, it turned out to be an awesome day, and thanks to Matt for taking the great photos! I'll be ordering some very soon.
Rick, that was a great intro to the track, very informative and insightful. i think the rookies were holding some of the best lines around that track!
