Title: new battery recommendations?
Post by: aowhaus on August 19, 2004, 07:27:31 AM
my battery is dead and I've been told it was time to get a new replacement one.
I don't know if there are any differences in batteries out there.
Any suggestions?  A good place to take it to around downtown?

Thanks!

I replaced mine with an Optima Red Top, great batteries but a little pricey.

Alan,

You've already tried filling the stock battery with distilled water?

In the past I've gone with one that is exactly the same size as the one I'm replacing with as many CCA as I can find.

In the past I've always had bad luck with reviving dead batteries, they never seem to work 100% afterwards and always at the worst moments.

I did some research and the Optima batteries seems to be the best.  They last twice as long and provide more power upon startup -- and they are not affected by vibration and temperture as much as typical batteries.
It's only $30 more than the Interstate brand -- better be safe than sorry.
