Title: Winter Wheels
Post by: 03Indigo on December 10, 2002, 06:42:45 PM
I just ordered some

new 16" Spiders with Blizzak WS-50 225/50/16 so I don't jack up my BBS.  They were shipped today, so they should be here early next week.

If anyone is interested in my wellingtons at a seriously cheap price, they are yours.  I would like to get rid of them.  They are flawless, only about

60 miles on them.  I believe they have the continentals...but they are brand new.  They might be good as spares if 4 separate people want them, or

if someone wants some beaters.  Jay...you could have some alloy wheels super cheap here, and move up from those caps    Every offer

considered.

Jon, pardon my ignorance, but are

those 15's or 16's?  Are they the wheels on your car in the "famous" roof-rack-on-in-your-driveway pic?

Edit:  I just found that pic and I see it is your BBS's in that pic.  I'll hunt around for a pic of the Wellingtons.

Edit #2:  Hey, just found your For Sale post in the classifieds section.  Is that section new or was I just brain-dead yesterday and didn't notice it?

I'd love those wheels if they were 16's.  But still, if you don't get any other offers, talk to me.  They would be a better looking winter wheel than

my Adelaides.

I just got the WS-50's too.

They seem to be really good tires, but the sidewall on them is not as tight as the normal tires, which makes it feel like you are driving on water

balloons.  You get used to it though, and they are supposed to be great in the snow, but I haven't tried them yet...

Here are some shots of what Brown

delivered last night. I can not wait to get them on next week after giving the car a good washing.  Now I get to look as good as Pat and Wendy :D

Pretty nice Jon.  Those look like

some serious snow tires!  I nominate you to drive us up in the snow for some snowshoeing.

I am so jealous Jon!  It's just killing

me to see mine sitting up on shelves in my garage.  I never ever EVER thought I would be asking for GCs to Discount Tire for Christmas   .

I need rubber!!!

Jon, Don't you know that it doesn't

snow in Colorado anymore? HA! :P

I actually had about 2" on my grass yesterday. Of course my son is screaming at me, "Daddy, let's go build a Snowman!" By the time I got his

coat on the snow was melted.  :P

Nice "beater" wheels.

Chas, I know, i drove in the "wet"

when it snowed on New Years...but have not hit the snow.  Funny thing is that I bought the wheels and then 2 weeks later bought a 4WD car to go

through the snow.  I did not want to mess up the Passat during the winter months, rock chips and all, so unless it snows while I am out in the

Passat, I doubt I will ever get good use out of the wheels and tires.  They might have to go on the selling block after a while, who knows   But

at least it gives me some confidence in the winter time that I will have some control in the snow.

Well, if you sell the wheels, I want to

be the first one to have dibs on them.  :D

Do you still have the 15" wellingtons and will they fit a 2000 passat?

you do realize that that post is almost 4 years old now, don't you/

the wheels and the car are LOOONNNNGGGGGG gone.

different offsets between B5 and B5.5, so they would stick out more on your car, but only a little, like 10mm, otherwise, a direct fit.
