Title: charcoal cabin air filter?
Post by: aowhaus on October 17, 2004, 11:05:25 PM
Anyone can suggest a good quality charcoal cabin air/pollen filter and where to buy it?

I heard a bit on Mann's, but was wondering if there are other decent brands out there (such as Bosch, etc.).
Anyone interested in getting a group buy organized?

I do mine every year or so.  I usually just get them from Blaufergnugen.com or ECS.  I think they're around $20.

I never changed mine, I just clean it off a couple times a year with a vacuum and some air sanitizer.
It's definately time for a new filter.

I only had it changed once so far at 40k. I'm at 50k right now. I could get another one if you need someone to do a group buy. I'm assuming B5 and B5.5 are the same size filters.

I'm definitely down for a GB on this.  Same as Alan, I just vaccum mine out a few times a year.

I believe reading something on cb5 about the B5 being different size than the B5.5.

I'm interested in the charcoal filter which neutralizes more odours, or anything better than stock.  Mann's, Bosch, etc.

yup, the B5 and B5.5's uses a different size cabin filter.  Unfortunately there are no charcoal air filters available for B5.5's.

Sorry, I don't think a GB is going to happen.
Parts4vws.com (Potterman's) and ECS Tuning sells OEM B5.5 cabin filters for $15 (and B5 for $20).
