Title: 4 Wheel Drifting
Post by: jayryan on December 22, 2004, 05:55:55 AM
Don't tell my wife I did a four wheel drift at 45 in her GLI this morning
I love snow...I just wish I could do this stuff on a closed, controlled track environment.
The ESP does give me a false sense of security. It's kinda neat though. I don't have it in my Passat so it was fun to mess with on the way to work. I'd rather have my snow tires though.

yeah ESP was something I would have liked to have on my A4, unfortunately it was not so equipped. But with AWD in the snow i can usually fix the understeer with a little bit o right foot action... ;)

Just like to share again how much fun I have on slick roads with nobody else around. Power sliding into every sharp turn and drifting around the 30-50mph ones. I do wish I could keep consistent power through the turn though. It does takes some minor effort to break the FWD car loose, even on slick roads.

I guess it reminds me that I actually like to drive. Especially in the off-season when I don't drive much. Anybody know if there are any legal (sanctioned) controlled drifting roads in the area? The drive to work doesn't completely meet my need.

Come with us Friday to Georgetown, you can drive my car if you want -- I don't have any passengers yet, or other drivers. Actually since its a practice day they probably don't care, but on race day two male drivers are allowed to race a single car and two female.

We're going up Sunday too for race day, but that's not very fun unless you're winning (lose first race and yer done).

Don't listen to him, JR.  He's full of it.  I know, because she's over here right now.
