Title: The New M
Post by: sediahaka on February 08, 2005, 12:41:14 PM
For those of you that follow new cars, we have a brand new, not for sale M45.  BMW beater as they've been calling it.  Anyway, if you wanna see it before the car show, Infiniti of Denver has one.

reading the title of the thread, I thought you meant this:

OK, so Bangle messed up the looks, but it is growing on me.  And, 500bhp makes up for a lot of ugly.

I'd take the M5 over the Infiniti, but its still a cool car.  Push button start and everything.

I always thought the M45 was a pretty cool car...  It's like a nissan 4 door muscle car...  Pretty mean plain jane looks, and all go...

On another Infiniti note, does anybody happen to know if the new US bound Skyline GT-R will have an 8 or a TT6?

technically it's watered down version is already here, the G35...  i read in one of the aussie car rags that we may get the 8 instead of the tt6, which is a bummer cause yet again we may get a totally different car than everybody else...  add that to the list of e46 M3's, STi's, Evo's, 4dr R32's, etc...

Yeah, Gragravar, that's what I thought the title meant, too.  I don't care about some pinche Infinity.  I want my click back.

Is that a bad thing?  Every couple of days I still think we should trade in the 330 for a previous generation M5.

I've must have seen all of three current generation M45's on the road, certainly it was a marketing and sales bomb.  The performance was there but eventhough the old-school Japanese styling was tasteful it was not memorable.

I actually like this new M45, it reminds me a lot of the redesigned 2005 Toyota Avalon, but much faster.

The only thing I hate is the monsterous rear tail lights.  I would get the exterior in black and have the huge turn signal portion of the tail light tinted to blend in with the trunk.

Oooo, those Avalons look just like mk5 Jettas....how dumb.

Everything looks like the new Jetta.
This looks like an Altima which looks like the B6 Passat which....

i'm driving an Altima right now - those things are huge! And yeah, everybody jumped on that B5 passat design bandwagon.

They did, bettered it and now it's the other way around. I think VW is jumping the bandwagon this time 'round.

My realtor had an Avalon which I spent lots of time in. Nice car...not for me though. Again I felt like I sat "on" the car and not "in" the car. But then, I am larger than the subjects they design these cars for. I'm staring out the top of the windshield on my wife's Jetta...

yeah I was surprised at how high up I felt sitting in the Altima. Kept trying to find the control that would lower the seat more; and it was already down all the way...

I think the side profile of the Avalon is a dead ringer for the Acura TL (which is not a bad thing).  Yeah, eventhough I think the Avalon is a very nice car, it's still Japan's answer to aging american drivers (a Buick in Lexus clothing).

i've only seen a handful of new R35 skyline renderings...  they do look a lot like the G35 coupe.  i think there was one recently in Super Street or SCC...  i wish they were still going to look like the r34...  nissan is flexing platform sharing lately...

Here's an aussie link that i was able to find...

It's identical. I suspect the Nissan Skyline is going to be the economical version of the G35 like the FX35 is to the Murano.

Their is a little blurb in the front of the April European Car

"10 cylinders, 507 bhp, a 8250 redline and a seven-speed SMG tranny. The super coupe aslo features a carbon-fiber roof (as did the limited edition M3 CSL)
The M6 is scheduled to come to the U.S. 2 years after the intro of the 2004 645Ci. Put your order in now."
