Title: Body work and paint
Post by: SivNiz on July 06, 2005, 02:39:45 PM
I got hit about a 2 months ago and I am now ready/thinking about getting it fixed along with a body kit.  Does anyone know of good shop in Colorado that will do this?

Lots of people (myself included) have had very good experiences with SVE Auto in Broomfield. They recently did a widebody (RS4) conversion on a B5 S4 avant, so yeah, they kinda know what they're doing and are familiar with our cars.

Sounds good, I will give them a call.  Is there anyone I should talk to in particular?

jon -  any other suggestions for paint work here locally? SVE wanted $1650 to paint my lowers on the A4..  I have read of others online have had them painted for $500-$800..

Oh and avoid Cars, Collion and Glass. I took my old jetta there last year a couple things (insurance had me by the balls to go there) and they made more of a mess of the car and they were a hassle to get it fixed after.

I have actually had a couple bad things with SVE and will not go back to them.  They aren't worth their price...

Apex Autobody will do just as good, if not better than SVE for half the price.  I am so pleased with the work Dave has done on my car.  303.462.2739.  He usually gives better deals for referrals, so if you go you can use me (Jack Ham) or RS Motorsports as a referral.

Nice to know, I'm thinking of a Votex body kit and refreshining of the paint to my hood and front fenders next spring.

Perry & Terry's Collision west of the Golden Triangle area does a maginal job.  The price was decent, but they were a little sloppy in the details -- my headliner had to be refitted twice, my bumper light was not installed, and the entire interior was a mess of white residue (either from the wet sanding or some wild coke party  8O  ).  Andrew (34k) had better luck with them.

My wife had some hail damage work done on her 4runner at Mattocks Brothers Auto Body.

Address:
4171 Morrison Rd.
Denver 80219

(303) 934-1808

They did a fantastic job, and did some work for free (even provided us with a bottle of touch up paint).  The estimate was $1800, but it was insurance work.  They may charge differently for direct consumer.

What he said.  I have had several cars done there.  My Grandfather was friends with the Mattock Bros.  Denny is the guy I deal with when I go.  They did my lowers on the GTi for around $300.  Never had one chip on em.  They also did some custom fender work back in the day (1990) on my first VW - Fox.  They do great work.
