Title: Any interest is a GTG at Elitch Gardens?
Post by: DenverPat on July 11, 2005, 08:13:18 AM
I've never been there, and a couple of us were considering going.  If there is significant interest in this maybe we should have a GTG?

That would be fun.  Any given Sunday is good for me.

I'd go, but it is a gazillion dollars to get in.

Would you guys be doing rides, water park, or both? We're thinking of taking our daughter there so we'd be limited to certain parts of the water park and kiddy rides.

Circa $36.00...discount tickets can be found online, soda cans and King Soopers.

The waterpark is fun but only about a half day's worth for me. With the summer lines, you could probably spend all day just doing rides. However, my suggestion is show up around noon and hit the waterpark. Remain there until the daytrippers are all tired and go home, then hit the rides in the late afternoon/evening (watching crowds/lines until the park shuts down.

yeah, going on a hot day is no fun -- long lines, a high concentration of white trash wearing inappropriate clothing, and the overwhelming stench of B.O.
Call me neurotic, but with the kind (and mass) of people there the waterpark really grosses me out.

I might be interested in going.

It's called chlorine. Massive, ludicrously large amounts of chlorine. See what happens when get grown up? You don't have as much fun as when you were a kid

I'd skip the water park too. But I love the rides, and it has been quite awhile since my last visit (back then 'gazillion' only meant $30 or something like that).

Right now they are offering a ticket at King Soopers for 21.95 --- the child price.  I don't know how long the deal is good for.
