Title: Here it is...the great unvailing of....Jay's new ride!!!!!
Post by: 92UrS4 on August 13, 2005, 05:31:23 PM
We went in shopping for a big discount on a 2005 Passat TDI and came home with this.

Behold, the glorious Deep Black 2006 B6 Passat!

It goes in Wednesday night to get a clear bra (got the dealer to throw it in).

Awesome!
Welcome back to the Passat league!
I spent some time at Mtn States VW and all they have left for the B5.5s were the TDI sedan (about 8 left) and they are not doing much discounts on them, which makes the B6 more appealing (though no TDIs will be available).  Congrats!

Do tell us more -- interior pics, options, your mod wish list, etc.

The B6 by H&R looks very nice:

and combine it with the ABT front lip spoiler:
that would be sharp, especially with some black 18" rims with a polished lip...

lease or buy?

Thanks guys, I did lease, but I did the same with my last Passat and then bought it out. Took advantage of VWs lease deal right now on the 06's.

In the end they couldn't cut a good enough deal on the TDI for me and I ended up getting a better deal on this.

It is package 1 and is 2.0T. This is pretty mucht he norm for all dealers right now as it is the only model available. Mine also has CWP.

Here are some interior shots:

I know black is hard to care for, but the combo was love at first sight. Modding...ha! My fiance is terrified that Iw ill mod it. That 2.0T is pretty quick so I know I will be okay for awhile.

I would like to make the stockies the winter wheels and get a nicer summer set. But that is a little ways off, I can't bear to spend another dime right now otherwise I will have to lock myself up. :)

Congratulations Jay!

I have seen them on the Mountain States lot and they are better looking in person than pictures.  I am glad to see you are VW'n it again.  If the 2.0T is the same that is in the 05 A4, then you should be good to go for a while without modding.  It is a nice motor.  I am guessing the turbo lag is just about non existent?

Nice ride, i've been reading great things about the 2.0 FSI.  Should be a great vehicle.

Hehe, I am definitley TRYING to make that GTG. So much going on that it's hard for me to commit.

The car is great, it is the same 2.0T Audi is using. Turbo lag is gone and this si an Auto, so it is incredible. Per the VW spec sheet 0-60 is 7.4 seconds for the auto and 6.9 for the manual. Of course this is in sport mode.

Well, in my opinion, I think it is such a nice car that it deserves more recognition.  This post hasn't had nearly enough talk about Jay's new ride.  Bump, and I think it's awesome. I hope you're loving. And give us feedback on the 2.0T. I'm enamored with it.

Very nice ride.

Do we know when the wagon is expected?

Impressions? How come no nav?
Title: Here it is...the great unvailing of....Jay's new ride!!!!!
Post by: 92UrS4 on September 06, 2005, 06:16:14 PM
The wagon should be around in Feb-March 2006. Some people are reporting a later arrival of it, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Nav...hmm.  I know where everything is around here so not much need for it.  Although it would be nice for my road trips. It is an option, but pricey. Another drawback, the cd changer while conveniently located in the glovebox, wont play MP3 CDs whereas the stock single disk and optional in dash 6 disk do.

Plus, I am on a tight budget. If I could have afforded it I would probably have waited and optioned it to the tilt.

Impressions.  I am really happy with it.  Handles far better than my b5 did stock. Has luxuries and the feel of my old A6. Quieter, roomier interior. Hell you;re out here now aren't you?

We are having a GTG  this Sunday if you're around, come by and check it out. Or drop me a line and we can meet up.

Bummer the wagon is so far behind. Won't be able to wait for it.

Yup, came out last weekend. Leave next wednesday for a bit, then back again.

I'll check the GTG section, see if I can swing by.

We're staying in Centennial right now, one of theose "suites" places along the freeway.

Where're you in relation? This weekend I'm thinking might be trips to the local VW/Audi dealer

Wow, congrats Jay!  Nice car.

I guess they'll have to pry my AEB B5 from my cold, dead hands lol...

I am so jealous of your fully independent rear suspension...

You gonna be bringin' it to the ABQ GTG in October? 8)
