Title: H&R Spring install on B6
Post by: kraut-sled on November 15, 2005, 03:49:50 PM
We just finished the H&R Spring install on Al's (givebloodplayhockey) car.  I must say the car looks and drives amazing.  We did not get any pictures, but I am sure Al will take some later and post them.

On another note - I must say that I am very impressed with the APR software.  I am not a fan of automatic transmissions, but if I had to pick one the FSI 2.0T Automatic would be it.

I can't wait to see Al's car, of course I have never seen it, but one day I hope to!

HOLY CRAP!

On the way home I took it fairly easy. HOWEVER, afterwards I did take it out for a rip. The car sticks like snot on a blanket! The F-1's sure help!

Randy and Mark: THANKS! You guys are the best. I kow the install was a learning curve for all of us (remeber, left rear, right front)! The install was very clean, very professional. Everything is perfect. The car sits right where it should. It is a bit rougher but hey, that's to be expected and believe me, it's enjoyed! The car looks great with Steve's old wheels on it, perfect for the Reflex Silver car with graphite wheels and 27% tint.

My dig. camera is only a 3.1 MP so it kind of sucks and I'm HORRIBLE with posting pics. Maybe a member can help a brother out? ;-)

Again, KUDOS to Randy and Mark.

Congratulations on the change!  Having just installed my FK coilover set-up 3 weeks ago I can relate to the fun of a new suspension in what was a very floaty ride(my car that is)!

Enjoy!

That would be super! My camera is about as usful as a tub of yak boogers. Then again, it could be the operator!

We could meet up somewhere near your place for a couple pics. That would make it a ton easier for you. Let me know what you think! I would really appreciate it!

I work at roughly Dry Creek and I-25 (just a little east)...do you want to come by here?  there is a fairly nice spot for photos below our parking lot.

Hey everyone... thanks for the help!

I ended up leaving for an emergency (work) right after my last post yesterday. Didn't arrive back home until 11 p.m. last night. Joy.

I am still really amazed at the handling of this car now.

Ian, Eric and Jay: Thanks a ton for taking the time to do the pics and posting. If it is more detailed than just "add picture" I'm screwed! Program an entire automation system, no prob... post a pic... catastrophe!
Edited to give props!

Car is sitting even a bit lower today. I guess the springs settled a bit more.
Man oh man does it handle now! Just like it's on rails compared to stock. Jay... when is it your turn! ;-)

No props to me?  If it wasnt for me, you'd still be on stock wheels and it'd handle like POOOP.

I must say though that the car does really look nice with my old wheels.  Have any clearance issues at all?

STEVE! Man I am so sorry, that was b-a-d. BIG thanks to Steve for the wheels! I actually love that anthracite with the reflex silver. I love the combo!

The wheels are super Steve. I gave thema good cleaning and they look real sharp. Big kudos!

Haha, no prob man.  I really do like how they look on the Passat.  I just wish that they would have fit the GLI a little better and had more clearance.  Hopefully those tire will last you a long while, tons of tread left on those things, so treat them well and you'll have lots of grip for many months to come.

Treating tires well has always been a bit of a problem for me. However, I' really baby this car so I'm sure there will be a few seasons of enjoyment in them!
Now I need my test pipe and full turbo back exhaust. Oh yeah, an CAI too. Damn altitude!
