Title: I get to pimp my office car!!!
Post by: aowhaus on February 27, 2006, 11:23:54 AM
so my office just bought a car to be used to go up to Vail for meetings, etc. (unfortunately I'm not working on any Vail projects).  We have a few large projects up there and spending a ton on money on rental cars and people's milage expenses as there's usually at least a meeting or two up there every week.
A couple people came up to me suggesting I should do some cool graphics on the car to market our firm since I'm the graphics and marketing guru in the office.  I talked to my office manager over happy hour about doing something like that and she said that the partners already wanted me to do it.

Now I have a lot of ideas to make our office ride really cool and other architecture firms take notice (and have envy).
The car is a silver Subaru wagon.  It's funny that my office is very car illiterate, I haven't seen the car myself, but I've been told it's either a WRX or a Legacy Outback (even from those who actually drove it to Vail).
I know it has hood scoop, it's silver, it's a wagon, and has a 200-something horsepower engine, and it's a Subaru.  My guess it's a Legacy Outback wagon, as the WRX's trunk is a bit small to haul stuff.

I would like to do some racing graphics along the side of the car using my office logo -- large but still tasteful, like having it across the side at an angle, going over the doors and wrapping a little over the roof (kinda like those Audi ring graphics), with a reverse banner on the windshield top and one on the debadged trunk.  Since the car is bought outright, not leased, I don't have to worry about returning it back to stock.

Anyone know of any sign makers that installs laser cut vinyl graphics?
I have a company I've worked with in mind but they do car wraps which I think is a little overkill.

I'm trying to think of the company that did all of the vinyl for the local SCCA vans.  Let me inquire and I will get back to you.

Here is the contact info I was referring to:

"Annie Bonvouloir at Sign Edge is a member of our region and does a lot of the graphics for our members' cars. Her number is 303-258-1707"

If you do call her, let her know that you got her information through RMSOLO contacts.

My company has worked with Fineline Graphics for stuff and been happy with them.

I'm not super impressed with the stuff in their gallery, but that's the designer's fault for not having good designs, like the SAAB with the pink T-Mobile Flames... ugghhh.

I'm really happy with Gator Graphics.  They have done some stuff on friends race cars.  They do good work and they aren't very expensive... they are worth a look-see at least.
