Title: Overland Highschool's in parents' sites...
Post by: jayryan on March 01, 2006, 06:14:46 PM
Watch the news tonight.   I'm not really at liberty to say anything more. But it could very well deal with my wife directly as names of individuals were given on the radio this morning.

Google Jay Bennish.

interesting google results.  I don't mind college professors making such statements.  Students there are encouraged to think for themselves and making such statements can push them to form their own opinions and do some research into what is behind those.  also students in college are making the choice to be there and can choose to leave if they like.

I guess that is the problem in the high school context, students don't really have the choice.  That, and while college is more about building your own personal life philosophies, HS seems more like a time for objective fundimentals.  those comments don't seem terribly objective.

I listened to it on Mike Rosen this morning and then saw it on the news this evening.  The news didn't nearly convey how utterly assinine this guy is.
