there are a couple of local junk yards that carry audi parts, one in castle rock and another in erie stand out in my mind but I cant rember what either place is called.

I have also had good luck finding audi parts from Shokan.com.

you might also try just chroming your mirrors, or using an aluminum colored spray paint on them.

buy them new...I had a set of these, they were perfect fit...and fit all Golf, Passat, and audi applications outside of the allroad, which has larger outside mirrors.  These are for the older platforms, B5/5.5, C platforms, and A platforms.

$125 a set

I have chrome mirrors.
You could get the ones made by Impro or OEM ones that have been chrome plated.  You simply swap the painted portion of the mirrors with these parts, it's a direct fit and takes less than 10 minutes to do.
Stay away from the stick on chrome covers as the fit is sloppy.

There is a great group buy going on at Passat World, Rus is selling chrome plated OEM ones for about $80 -- that is where I got mine and I am very happy with them.

I looked into the OEM S4 aluminum mirrors which have a satin (not mirror) finish, but they cost $450 each side -- this is for the entire mirror assembly and will involve more much more work to install.

I would recommend getting the OEM blue tinted aspherical mirrors (just the mirror part).  The blue tinting cuts some of the glare from trucks and SUVs behind you at night and the curved outer edges lets you see into your blindspot.
It's a really great safety feature and every car should have it.

I got mine from www.parts4vws.com
it's a little pricey, but sometimes a group buy comes up on passatworld.
