Title: anyone up for a Mt. Evans Drive?
Post by: Denvernoob on July 05, 2006, 08:56:05 AM
I would like to plan a drive, much like the one that seemed to be a nice successs last year.  I am thinking drive mt. evans, group lunch afterwards either back here in Denver, perhaps in Morrison, Idaho Springs, or otherwise.

anyone interested, and if so, lets try and get a consensous of good dates for the majority and dining options.  also, route ideas and time alotted would be appreciated.  I am hoping to get this drive in the works for the end of this month, perhaps 1st weekend in Aug.

TIA
-Ted

Sorry Ted, but the next couple weekends are filled up for me with in-laws around, then track day in Pueblo, then the BMW club 100K ride (motorcycle club ride with 100K vertical feet elevation change in a day.)

right now looking like the 29th or 30th of this month to keep clear of bug-in, route is in the planning stages....looks like a stop in idaho springs for lunch, 2.5hrs of total drive time (no including stops).

i will keep the details posted as they emerge.

i'm actually planning a trip up mt evan's with a group of audi guys from the springs and a bunch of guys from the denver area so i'll talk to them and see if we can get all this to work out so we can all go at the same time. i'll let you know what happens on my end.

ok so i have a bunch of audi friends that said the 30th would be perfect but now we need to figure out times and where we want to meet. i was thinking like 10am at the bergan park king soopers parking lot over at the end near the nick n willys pizza and radio shack cause it's close to the road to mt. evans and it's still a large enough parking lot for everyon to meet in.  denvernoob if you want me to i can kinda take this over since i'm from evergreen and i can arrange this with you. if you think that will work then send me a p.m. and i'll give you my cell # so we can talk and figure this out. so far i have around 10-20 old school audi quattros of all kinds wanting to go. not counting the few people on here and audi world.
