Title: I just ordered some parts for my MkV GTi
Post by: s4josh on October 03, 2006, 01:34:36 PM
Ordered:
H&R Sport springs
Bilstein shocks
H&R adjustable rear sway bar
Goodridge brake lines
AWE in vent boost/vac gauge

Now to get the cash together have them installed!

I have decided on going with the GIAC software running and running a APR 3" Sport turbo back exhaust.  I also want to get the Carbonio cold air intake from APR.  I am hoping to get the first two things before January.

I drove a mk5 GTI with APR exhaust, APR chip and HR cup kit.  It is a very similar set up to what you are looking at doing, and I was super impressed with that car.

Should have waited till after Octdubberfest.  There is going to be a set of MKV H&R Springs up for grabs in the raffle and you would have been one of the few MKV's out there (only like 5 at the most that have committed to going).

Otherwise looks like a good start to the modding.

I purchased the pod mount boost gauge kit from AWE....i know i have side airbags but i figured that if the airbag goes off i have more to worry about!!
The gauge took me an hour and a half to install from start to finish, great instructions and a clean looking finish.....the vent mount kits look better in my opinion, but they don't make one for the C5 vents.....i think you will be well pleased with it.........just my 2 cents

Randy probably could've custom done one for you...yeah, you'll have to worry about the insurance money from the car...after you remove the pod and guage from your temporal lobe

I am going to have Randy do the install what I ordered.  I found out they didn't have the correct bilsteins, they were just the standard OEM replacements and not the sport or HD valved version, so I canceled the springs and shocks.

I am open for suggestions, but I don't want coil overs, just a good spring shock setup for street/track.  I might check out the Eibac Pro system, but I know there are probably better setups out there.
