Title: high mileage Saab
Post by: Lila on December 13, 2006, 08:40:20 AM
So I stumbled across this article (link below) about a guy who put a million miles on his 1989 Saab SPG (900 turbo).  It made me miss my old 1987 900 turbo.  What are the chances of my present car (2000 Passat v6, 5 speed, 102,000 miles) making it to 275,000 miles (the number of miles on my Saab prior to selling for $100) ?  How about my Passat making it to 500,000 miles?  Anyone ever hear stories about really high miles on a Passat?

Good question.  A lot of it would depend on how well you took car of it.  A good example is Pat's 1.8t A4.  He cracked the engine open last year and it still looked great.  He is meticulous and that sort of attention will pay off.

Replace parts as they wear out and be religious on maintenance and there is no reason the car shouldn't last for a while.
