Title: New mod from the last couple weeks. car is dirty though.
Post by: Eric18T on December 16, 2006, 11:22:39 AM
Well after dyno'ing the car a couple months back it became apparent i needed a better intercooler. So after some debating and research i ended up with this one:

Eurocode FMIC. The core was anodized with type 2 anodizing in black. The lower IC pipes were  powder coated black and the clamps were powdercoated at the same time. Black silicone hoses were used down there too.

Here are some quick pics. The car is really dirty but it is hard to keep it clean when it keeps snowing in the mountains. I love how it looks so stealth. You can't really see it behind the mesh unless you are really looking for it. It also fits behind the ABt bumper without trimming and is the perfect size for the bumper openning. :)

I like the low key look. With the new wheels it will look more OEM than before. No flashy is good.

The K04 will come shortly. I am just waiting for the crack in the K03 to grow a little more. Then the K04 will find it's new home. I am still exploring 1 more software solution right now.. So that is keeping things on hold too.

I can't wait to run some heat soaking runs this spring/summer to see how much the FMIC helps out. Ted saw how much power i lost with the sotck SMIC, it was sad.

you certainly had plenty of room for improvement under your HP curve...esp. on the top end.  i wouldnt say you lost peak...but you sure lost sustainability!
