Title: window regulator failed..how hard its it to replace?
Post by: huevon on January 03, 2007, 01:15:25 PM
the dealership replaced the clips but the window regulator failed and they want 160 for the part alone and another 200 for installation.

My question is, how hard is it to do the work myself. i have modded my car and have the bentley manual but i am at work and i cant research this right now.... any valid comments?

help help..the car is at the dealership now... :x

I had the same thing happen to the drivers side window.  Eventhough I have taken apart the door before to fix the lock motor, it was a pain in the ass.  Of course I had to dig in a bit deeper than just replacing the regulator.  I ended up taking it to Emich and having them fix the regulator.  Yeah, I bent over on the bill, but I did not want to wrestle and possible break the glass in the process.

Not a bad job at all.  Do it slowly and keep track of all the parts.  Should take about 90 minutes.
