Title: 2007 World Car of the Year winners
Post by: aowhaus on April 05, 2007, 08:59:15 PM
The world car awards were presented at the New York International Auto Show recently.
The winners were no surprises:

Car of the Year: Lexus LS460
This car has more bells and whistles and the most technology than any car, rivaling even the Maybach.
It looks so much better in person than in photos, and it looks more elegant and substantial than the BMW 7-series or the new Mercedes S-class.  The details inside and out are simply beautiful.
Finalists includes: Cooper Mini, Audi TT

Performance Car of the Year: Audi RS4
no explanations needed here.
Finalists includes: Porsche 911 Turbo, BMW 335i

Green Car of the Year: Mercedes E320 Bluetec Diesel
Finalists include: BMW Hydrogen 7-series, VW BlueMotion Polo Diesel

Design of the Year: Audi TT
A very nice grown-up redesign and improvement of an already innovative and iconic car of this era.  It's also a relatively resonably priced sports car -- possibly my next car...
Finalists include: Citroen C4 Picasso, Fiat Grande Punto

The LS reminds me of an A8/Phaeton from some angles...and a Bimmer 7-series from others, hehe. Overall I like the new Lexus styling, especially the new IS

I'm surprised at how often I see RS4's around town lately, about once ever other day...damn I'm jealous
