Post by: 92UrS4 on April 16, 2007, 03:19:30 PM
Ritter done good!

From 9news.com: http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=68196

Now if only the damn Shell stations would offer me a discount for buying from them all the time. I need a frequent filler card or something like that.

Yes, cheap can be used not only in terms of cost, but quality. However, if you have a beater commuter or something like my Scout it is great news!

All my cars have used King Soopers gas and they run great.  It all comes from the same place...

I often get gas at Kings, no problems yet.  The only bad gas I have gotten in the area was Premium at a little discount place in the sticks that probably never sells premium, it was old gas a and so sleazy it caused my car's bodged-in electric fuel pump to lose prime.  That was over 7 years ago but I learned not to buy premium at places that do not sell a lot of it.  In the last 5 years I got really low octane gas at Costco a couple times.  That was when I had a van that would ping if it got really crap gas.  It'd run fine on 'quality' 85 octane, but if the gas was lower than that it'd ping.  I got two tanks that caused it to ping like mad from Costco.  Topped off with premium after 1/3 of a tank and the problems went away.

maybe it was just my car. but after we moved here to CO i filled up the Jetta a couple times from King Scooper and it pinged like crazy. It took a little while to make the correlation to the gas at that station but it happened on several taks of fuel. Maybe it was the APR software at the time just had a little too much timing for the octane specefic program. But i haven't been back since.
