Title: Hello
Post by: KWilson on April 17, 2007, 12:42:17 PM
I thought that I'd finally register and introduce myself after lurking here for a few weeks.  I found out about this site from Jeremy when I bought his '85 GTI.

My name's Keith, and I live in Golden/Lakewood (6th Ave West).  I own a '99 A4 2.8, a '91 Jeep Cherokee, and now a '85 GTI.  We also have a '00 Honda Odyssey that my wife usually drives.

I'm another one of those damn Californians that keep moving here.  I accepted a job transfer here from San Diego about two years ago, so I feel like I'm still kind of new to the area.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics (if I can figure it out).

Welcome Keith. I work out in your neck of the woods, I-70 & Denver West. Glad to see the GTI is still local.

Hey Keith! Jeremy here.  Glad you posted and are around... it is great to see that GTi... hope she is treating you good... and I have NOT forgotten about the papers.  I can only assume you got my last email?

Thanks for the welcome.  I work in Wheat Ridge, so I pretty much stay over here on the west side of town.

Jeremy,

Yes, I got your email.  I just got back from vacation, and haven't had a chance to respond.  I'm having a lot of fun with the GTI.  I ended up replacing the ISV, and the idle has gotten much better.  There is still some room for improvement - I think I hear a little vacuume leak, so I need to track that down.  I also noticed a pinhole in one of the CV boots, so I need to take care of that soon.  I've been doing some research into engine swaps, and I'm currently leaning towards a 16 valve, but we'll see.

If you want to really dig into that MKII and engine swap options and details hit up the guys on DubZentrum (http://www.dubzentrum.com). As 34K can attest to they know their stuff.
