Title: headlight question
Post by: blackonblackA6 on September 19, 2007, 01:47:44 AM
i was wondering if i would be able to take apart the headlight on an a6... the reason i ask is because i had one of my yellow reflectors came loose in my headlight and now it is just sitting inside of my headlight on the bottom...well i actually realized that my headlight would look a lot better if i took the reflector out completely.  is this even posssible?

you can, you have to heat it up, pull the lens, then re-attach.

There are a ton of write ups for different cars on how to do this, people taking the light apart to paint the inside.  It is called the "Joey Mod".  You can search under that for directions, they are pretty universal.  If you don't find it, I can search later in the day and get you a link...Just too lazy right now.

that is the way most of the Audi guys do it, but if you also wanted to paint the housings, the chrome parts, pulling it apart will avoid the need to drill and risk scratching the lens from the inside.
