mah....looks like a C30 with less of a rear window.  Nothing innovative there, like gragravar, I too am disappointed, the concept was much, much nicer.

Well people that know me well know that I am a Scirocco freak.

At this point, I personally nominate Adrian Hallmark, the CEO of VW USA, to be beset by wild badgers while driving to work for not bringing the Scirocco to the state.  Here, ladies and gentlemen, is a clueless individual that has no desire to look at the pulse of the VW community today.

His excuse for not brining this car to the states, is:

"We don't want it," as Volkswagen of America chief Adrian Hallmark told AutoWeek magazine. "The GTI is iconic--it's as strong a name as the Beetle. It is economically suicidal for us to risk the sales volume and the potential for the GTI."

Now one thing he is failing to realize is that VW fans sort themselves out like good little german school kindern; there are GTI fans, and there are Scirocco fans, Passat fans, etc.  I love GTIs, but probably would never own one.  I would own another Scirocco, so who exactly has he checked with when he says "we don't want it?"

That's it honey, we're moving to a Scirocco country.  We'll visit the US on holiday.

Tell yo momma goodbye... :D

Dub gets 10 bonus points for the use of the word, "kindern." ;D

Oh, and Scirocco > GTi.

Hehe, thanks, I needed some points since I told Jen we're moving to Costa Rica so that I can get one.

That's a nice pic.

I wonder how much it would cost to import one.  It was designed to adhere to US vehicle laws so not too much would need to be done to make it legal.

I wonder if Jen would want to move to Europe...The boys could learn more languages...

I've just been reading the new thread over on VWVortex and wanted to post up a nice shot of it:

I have some questions for VW.

1. If you aren't bringing it over here because it will interfere with GTI sales, how did the MKII Scirocco ever go on sale in the 80's amid the GTI then?
2. Why would you not offer AWD options with all of your cars?  Just because of VW's older brother Audi?  In Colorado, a forced induction engine and AWD is the best combo.  Why why why?!?
3. Why do you continue to make such incredible concepts only to pull a major bait and switch when the car comes out?  E.g. Tiguan, Scirocco, B6 Passat, and the list goes on and on (did I mention Macrobus, which never even came out)?

So, in short, I would love to stock my garage full of VWs, but instead it looks like I'll be looking at Audi for my next car.  Too bad too since I have owned VWs since I was 16.
