Can it be done? Engine from say a 93 S4 into a 96 A4?

Yes, it can be done, and has been.  However, it is NOT worth the effort.  There is WAY too much that goes into it.  There are much better options.

Champagne did this with their championship hill climb car a few years back. It was a major undertaking.

If you were going to go to all that trouble, you might as well source an RS2 2.3t.

I would give Larry a call over at Champagne and ask him. Maybe he will be cool and tell you what you need to do, though I know Brian had done all the work as I recall. He is back around town now too (Brian), I forgot the name of his new business though.

No way.  That's the easy part.  The tough part is getting the engine/tranny stuff to fit in a short front end.  Give it up....srsly.

Brian Moody?  He's started a new shop named Salta Motorsports which is housed in the back part of Checkpoint Racing.
