Welcome New Members / another Hello from Denver
« Last post by isal on June 05, 2012, 03:04:47 PM »
Hi!  I am long time VW/Audi enthusiast who moved to Denver from Washington, DC in January of 2011.  I have been a VW fan since my dad's 1971 Super Beatle, which the jerk sold before I got my license.  I have owned dozens of cars over the years, but my VAG journey started with an '88 Jetta WE, then went to a 2001 GTI 1.8t, a 2001 S4, a pair of '88 4000 CSQ's, a 2002 GTI 337 (I still have it) and most recently an A3 2.0t S-Line (my wife's car).

Why did I join now?  I was talking to a coworker about the VW and Audi folks I used to hang out with in DC and started to wax nostalgic, so a quick google search later and here I am.

That's all for now, but I hope to meet some folks in the near future!

Hey guys,

I have been laying pretty low, but I think of all of you often.  Like Andrew, the job and my family are keeping me extremely busy.

I recently sold the B5 and picked up a 2003 B6 A4 Avant.  I'm dedicating some time and money to fixing it up like I like it and hope to eventually go to and APR Stage III setup with in a year or so.

Jen has a Q5 and I'm still keeping the 97 Land Cruiser for trips with the family as well as camping and offroad expeditions.

Alan, I didn't know you moved to Toronto.  I just discovered a band from up there call Walk Off The Earth that is really good and I have been spending time listening to.  That's a real bummer they make you do so much paperwork for a darn scooter.  What the hell!?!?

Now that I am managing, I spend most of my free time working, but I still get a chance to hang out with Pat now and again for a bike ride

Is everyone doing okay?

Thanks JR.  In fact it already has!

I got a 2003 B6 Avant that I am doing a ton of stuff to.  I'll post details on it once I make some progress.

How's life treating you and the little misses up on MT?

Hate to see it go, but this is one of the most cared for cars I have ever known. I'm sure whoever ends up witth it will get to enjoy it for another 12 years. Good luck with the sale my friend!

Yep, after 12 years, I'm selling my beloved B5.  It's all tuned up, waxed like a cali surfboard and ready to drive away.

Here is the listing on the Denver Craigslist:

Here is are the details:

I am the original owner.

This Passat has had many improvements made in the 12 years I have owned it. I have another project and this one is ready for the next owner to enjoy. This is a really fun, well tuned car that will provide many more years of solid use.

* I broke the side mirror adjustment switch off in the first month I owned the car and it was replaced under warranty.
* I broke a valve solenoid replacing a vacuum hose about 2 years into owning it and replaced that.
